5. Setup
5.1 Initial Charging
Before first use, fully charge the device. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the monitor's charging port and the other end to the charging adapter. Plug the adapter into a standard wall outlet. The battery indicator on the display will show charging status. A full charge typically takes approximately 5.5 hours and provides up to 12 hours of continuous use.
5.2 Powering On/Off
To power on the device, press and hold the power button (location typically on the side or back, refer to physical device for exact placement) for a few seconds until the display illuminates. To power off, press and hold the power button again until the display turns off.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Display Overview
The monitor features an ultra-high definition color screen that displays various air quality parameters simultaneously. Readings are refreshed rapidly due to high-precision sensors and a high-performance chip.

Figure 2: Main display showing real-time air quality data.
The display typically shows:
- PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10: Particulate matter concentrations in µg/m³.
- CO2: Carbon Dioxide concentration in ppm.
- HCHO: Formaldehyde concentration in mg/m³.
- TVOC: Total Volatile Organic Compounds concentration in mg/m³.
- Temperature: In Celsius or Fahrenheit.
- Humidity: Relative humidity percentage.
- Time: Current time.
- AQI: Air Quality Index, often represented by a color-coded bar and emojis.
6.2 Interpreting Readings
The monitor provides real-time data. The color-coded AQI bar and associated emojis offer a quick visual assessment of the overall air quality. Green typically indicates good air quality, while red or purple indicates poor air quality. Refer to the 'Understanding Air Quality Readings' section for detailed explanations of each parameter.
6.3 Alarm Settings
The device includes 7 AQI alarms that provide audible alerts when air quality levels exceed predefined thresholds. These alarms are designed to notify you of potentially unhealthy conditions.

Figure 3: Air Quality Index (AQI) thresholds for various pollutants.
To toggle the buzzer alarm on or off, locate the dedicated alarm button (refer to the device's physical layout). A single press typically activates or deactivates the audible alert. When the AQI status is 'POOR', the device may also display a text prompt such as "open windows to improve air circulation" and flash relevant indicators.
7. Understanding Air Quality Readings
7.1 Particulate Matter (PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10)
Particulate matter refers to microscopic solid or liquid particles suspended in the air. PM2.5 (particles less than 2.5 micrometers in diameter) and PM10 (particles less than 10 micrometers in diameter) are commonly monitored due to their potential health impacts. PM1.0 refers to even finer particles. Higher concentrations indicate poorer air quality.
7.2 Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
Carbon Dioxide is a gas naturally present in the atmosphere. Indoors, high CO2 levels can indicate poor ventilation and may lead to drowsiness, headaches, and reduced cognitive function. Typical outdoor CO2 levels are around 400-450 ppm.
7.3 Formaldehyde (HCHO)
Formaldehyde is a colorless, pungent-smelling gas. It is a common indoor air pollutant released from building materials, furniture, and household products. Exposure can cause respiratory irritation and other health issues.
7.4 Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOC)
TVOC refers to a group of various organic chemicals that can evaporate into the air. Sources include paints, cleaning supplies, air fresheners, and new furnishings. High TVOC levels can cause eye, nose, and throat irritation, headaches, and nausea.
7.5 Air Quality Index (AQI)
The AQI is a standardized index used to report daily air quality. It indicates how clean or polluted the air is and what associated health effects might be a concern. The monitor's AQI combines readings from multiple pollutants to provide an overall air quality assessment.
8. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the device in water.
- Sensor Care: Keep the sensor vents clear of dust and debris to ensure accurate readings. Do not insert any objects into the sensor openings.
- Battery: The built-in 2500mAh lithium-ion battery is not user-replaceable. If the battery life significantly diminishes, contact customer support.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
9. Troubleshooting
| Issue | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device does not power on | Low battery; Power button not pressed correctly | Charge the device fully; Press and hold the power button for several seconds |
| Inaccurate readings | Sensor vents blocked; Device not calibrated; Interference from strong odors/chemicals | Ensure vents are clear; Move device to a fresh air environment for 10-15 minutes; Avoid placing near strong emission sources |
| Display is dim or unresponsive | Low battery; Device malfunction | Charge the device; If issue persists, contact customer support |
| Alarms not sounding | Alarm function is off; Volume is muted | Toggle the alarm button to activate; Check device settings for volume control (if available) |
