4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Initial Cleaning

  1. Carefully remove all packaging materials from the coffee maker.
  2. Wash the reusable filter basket, drip tray, and travel mug with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  3. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
  4. Before first use, run 2-3 cycles with only water to clean the internal components. Fill the water tank to the maximum level (16 oz) and press the On/Off button. Discard the hot water after each cycle.

4.2 Placement

Place the coffee maker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter. Ensure there is adequate clearance around the unit for ventilation and access to the water tank.

4.3 Drip Tray Adjustment

The drip tray is adjustable to accommodate various cup and mug sizes. It has two height settings to prevent splashing. Simply lift or lower the drip tray to the desired position before brewing.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Brewing with Whole Coffee Beans (Grind & Brew)

  1. Add Water: Open the water tank lid and fill the water tank with fresh, cold water. Use the internal water level scales to measure between 6 oz and 16 oz, depending on your desired coffee strength and cup size. Close the lid securely.
  2. Add Coffee Beans: Open the grinder lid. Add the desired amount of whole coffee beans into the reusable filter basket. Do not overfill.
  3. Select Grinding Setting: On the control panel, press the 'Fine' or 'Coarse' button to select your preferred grinding degree.
  4. Place Mug: Place your cup or the included 19 oz travel mug on the drip tray. Adjust the drip tray height if necessary.
  5. Start Brewing: Press the 'On/Off' button. The machine will first grind the beans, then immediately begin the brewing process. Coffee will dispense into your mug.
  6. Completion: The machine will automatically shut off after brewing is complete. Carefully remove your hot coffee.

5.2 Brewing with Pre-Ground Coffee

  1. Add Water: Open the water tank lid and fill the water tank with fresh, cold water (6-16 oz). Close the lid securely.
  2. Add Ground Coffee: Open the grinder lid. Add the desired amount of pre-ground coffee into the reusable filter basket. Do not overfill.
  3. Select Ground Setting: On the control panel, press the 'Ground' button.
  4. Place Mug: Place your cup or the included 19 oz travel mug on the drip tray. Adjust the drip tray height if necessary.
  5. Start Brewing: Press the 'On/Off' button. The machine will immediately begin the brewing process.
  6. Completion: The machine will automatically shut off after brewing is complete. Carefully remove your hot coffee.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your coffee maker.

6.1 Daily Cleaning

  1. Unplug: Always unplug the coffee maker from the power outlet before cleaning.
  2. Remove Parts: Remove the reusable filter basket and the drip tray.
  3. Rinse: Rinse the filter basket and drip tray under running water. For stubborn coffee grounds or residue, use a soft brush or sponge with mild dish soap.
  4. Clean Grinder: If using whole beans, ensure all coffee grounds are removed from the grinder area. A small brush can be helpful.
  5. Wipe Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  6. Dry and Reassemble: Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling them into the coffee maker.

6.2 Descaling (Recommended Monthly)

Mineral deposits from water can build up in your coffee maker, affecting performance and coffee taste. Descale your machine monthly, or more frequently if you have hard water.

  1. Fill the water tank with a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio).
  2. Place an empty mug on the drip tray.
  3. Run a brewing cycle without coffee.
  4. After the cycle, let the machine sit for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Run 2-3 cycles with fresh, clean water to rinse out any remaining vinegar solution.
