3. Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove the cooktop and all accessories from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
- Placement: Place the cooktop on a dry, stable, non-metallic, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for ventilation (at least 10-15 cm from walls or other appliances).
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet (230 Volts).
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe the cooktop surface with a damp cloth.
4. Operating Instructions
General Operation
- Power On: Press the 'On/Off' button to turn on the cooktop. The digital display will illuminate.
- Place Cookware: Place your desired cookware, containing food, onto the center of the cooktop surface.
- Select Function: Choose a pre-set function (Stir, BBQ, Soup) or manually adjust the temperature/power.
- Adjust Settings: Use the '+' and '-' buttons to increase or decrease temperature (60°C - 300°C) or power levels.
- Timer Function: Press the 'Timer' button to set a cooking duration. Use '+' and '-' to adjust the time.
- Child Lock: Press the 'Lock' button to activate the child lock, preventing accidental changes to settings. Press again to unlock.
- Power Off: After cooking, press the 'On/Off' button to turn off the cooktop. The surface will remain hot for a period; allow it to cool down.
Using Pre-set Functions
The cooktop features 3 convenient pre-set functions:
- Stir: Optimized for stir-frying, providing quick and even heat.
- BBQ: Ideal for grilling, especially when using the included stainless steel grill.
- Soup: Maintains a consistent temperature suitable for simmering soups and stews.
To use a pre-set function, simply press the corresponding button on the control panel after powering on the unit.

5. Cookware Compatibility

6. Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning and proper maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your cooktop.
- Disconnect Power: Always unplug the cooktop from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Allow to Cool: Ensure the cooktop surface has completely cooled down before cleaning to prevent burns.
- Surface Cleaning: Wipe the crystal glass surface with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent. For stubborn stains, use a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for glass cooktops.
- Control Panel: Gently wipe the feather touch control panel with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use excessive water.
- Exterior: Clean the exterior housing with a damp cloth.
- Do Not Immerse: Never immerse the cooktop unit in water or any other liquid.
- Avoid Abrasives: Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the surface.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the cooktop in a dry, safe place.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Greenchef Jawa Infrared Electric Cooktop, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
