1. Important Safety Instructions

Please read all instructions carefully before using the appliance. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Ensure the cooktop is placed on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface.
  • Do not immerse the appliance, cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
  • Keep children and pets away from the appliance during operation.
  • The cooktop surface remains hot after use. Avoid touching it immediately.
  • Do not operate the appliance if the power cord or plug is damaged.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the cooktop during use.
  • This appliance features automatic shut-off, overheat protection, and child lock functions for enhanced safety.
  • Use only recommended cookware.

3. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the cooktop and all accessories from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Placement: Place the cooktop on a dry, stable, non-metallic, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for ventilation (at least 10-15 cm from walls or other appliances).
  3. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet (230 Volts).
  4. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe the cooktop surface with a damp cloth.

4. Operating Instructions

General Operation

  1. Power On: Press the 'On/Off' button to turn on the cooktop. The digital display will illuminate.
  2. Place Cookware: Place your desired cookware, containing food, onto the center of the cooktop surface.
  3. Select Function: Choose a pre-set function (Stir, BBQ, Soup) or manually adjust the temperature/power.
  4. Adjust Settings: Use the '+' and '-' buttons to increase or decrease temperature (60°C - 300°C) or power levels.
  5. Timer Function: Press the 'Timer' button to set a cooking duration. Use '+' and '-' to adjust the time.
  6. Child Lock: Press the 'Lock' button to activate the child lock, preventing accidental changes to settings. Press again to unlock.
  7. Power Off: After cooking, press the 'On/Off' button to turn off the cooktop. The surface will remain hot for a period; allow it to cool down.

Using Pre-set Functions

The cooktop features 3 convenient pre-set functions:

  • Stir: Optimized for stir-frying, providing quick and even heat.
  • BBQ: Ideal for grilling, especially when using the included stainless steel grill.
  • Soup: Maintains a consistent temperature suitable for simmering soups and stews.

To use a pre-set function, simply press the corresponding button on the control panel after powering on the unit.

5. Cookware Compatibility

A significant advantage of the Greenchef Jawa Infrared Electric Cooktop is its universal cookware compatibility. Unlike traditional induction cooktops, this infrared model works with virtually all types of heat-resistant cookware.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and proper maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your cooktop.

  1. Disconnect Power: Always unplug the cooktop from the power outlet before cleaning.
  2. Allow to Cool: Ensure the cooktop surface has completely cooled down before cleaning to prevent burns.
  3. Surface Cleaning: Wipe the crystal glass surface with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent. For stubborn stains, use a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for glass cooktops.
  4. Control Panel: Gently wipe the feather touch control panel with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use excessive water.
  5. Exterior: Clean the exterior housing with a damp cloth.
  6. Do Not Immerse: Never immerse the cooktop unit in water or any other liquid.
  7. Avoid Abrasives: Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the surface.
  8. Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the cooktop in a dry, safe place.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your Greenchef Jawa Infrared Electric Cooktop, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
