3. Setup Guide

3.1 Connecting Peripherals

  1. Connect Display: Use the provided HDMI cable to connect the Mini PC to your monitor or TV. The device supports up to three displays via two HDMI 2.1 ports and one full-featured USB Type-C port.
  2. Connect Keyboard and Mouse: Plug your USB keyboard and mouse into the available USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 ports.
  3. Connect Network: For a wired connection, plug an Ethernet cable into the RJ45 port. For wireless, the device supports Wi-Fi.
  4. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the DC12V/2A port on the Mini PC, then connect it to a power outlet.

5. Maintenance and Upgrades

5.1 Upgrading RAM and Storage

The Bmax Mini PC B4 Turbo allows for user upgrades of RAM and storage. To access the internal components:

  1. Ensure the device is powered off and disconnected from all power sources.
  2. Carefully remove the four screws on the bottom plate of the Mini PC.
  3. Gently lift the bottom plate to reveal the SODIMM RAM slot, the M.2 SSD, and the connector/mount for a 2.5-inch SATA drive.
  4. Install or replace components as needed. The device supports 16GB DDR4 RAM and a 512GB M.2 SSD, with an option to add a 2.5-inch SATA drive.
  5. Reattach the bottom plate and secure it with the screws.

5.2 General Cleaning

To maintain optimal performance, periodically clean the exterior of the Mini PC with a soft, dry cloth. Ensure ventilation openings are free from dust accumulation.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 System Recovery (Factory Reset)

If you encounter persistent system issues, you can perform a factory reset using the Bmax Smart Recovery Environment.

  1. Power on the Mini PC. During startup, you may need to press a specific key (refer to on-screen prompts if available) to enter the recovery environment.
  2. In the Bmax Smart Recovery Environment, select 'Factory Reset' to restore your Windows system to its original factory settings.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process. Warning: A factory reset will erase all data on your primary drive. Back up important files before proceeding.
