3. Operating Instructions
3.1. Battery Charging
The Lumex LF1050 operates on a rechargeable 24V battery. For optimal performance and battery life, ensure the battery is fully charged before initial use and regularly thereafter.
- Connect the charger to the charging port on the lift's control unit.
- Plug the charger into a standard electrical outlet.
- The charging indicator light will illuminate. Charge until the light indicates a full charge (refer to the control unit's specific indicator details).
- Disconnect the charger once charging is complete.
3.2. Patient Transfer Procedure
Always ensure the patient is comfortable and secure in a compatible sling (sold separately) before initiating any transfer. The 6-point cradle is designed to accommodate various sling types.

Figure 3.1: The 6-point cradle, designed to securely attach various sling types for patient transfer.
- Positioning the Lift: Roll the lift to the patient, ensuring the base legs can be adjusted to fit around the bed, chair, or commode. The low 4.7-inch floor clearance allows it to glide under most furniture.
- Attaching the Sling: Carefully position the sling under the patient according to the sling manufacturer's instructions. Attach the sling loops to the hooks on the 6-point cradle. Double-check all connections for security.
- Lifting the Patient: Using the hand control, slowly raise the boom to lift the patient clear of the surface. Monitor the patient for comfort and adjust as needed.
- Maneuvering: Once the patient is clear, use the smooth-rolling casters to carefully move the lift to the destination. Ensure the path is clear of obstacles.
- Lowering the Patient: Position the patient over the target surface (e.g., wheelchair, bed). Using the hand control, slowly lower the patient onto the surface.
- Detaching the Sling: Once the patient is safely seated, detach the sling from the cradle hooks.

4. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Lumex LF1050 patient lift.
- Cleaning: Wipe down all surfaces with a damp cloth and mild disinfectant regularly. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Battery Care: Keep the battery charged. Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently, as this can reduce its lifespan. If the lift will not be used for an extended period, ensure the battery is fully charged and stored in a cool, dry place.
- Caster Inspection: Periodically check the casters for debris (hair, lint) and ensure they roll freely. Clean as necessary.
- Structural Integrity: Inspect the frame, boom, and mast for any signs of damage, cracks, or loose fasteners. Do not use the lift if any structural damage is observed.
- Electrical Connections: Ensure all cables and connections to the control unit and battery are secure and free from fraying or damage.
