Setup and Installation
1. Choosing Installation Location
Outdoor Unit: Select a location near your entrance, approximately 1.2 to 1.5 meters (4 to 5 feet) from the ground, where it is easily accessible to visitors and protected from direct heavy rain if possible. Ensure there are no major metallic obstructions between the outdoor and indoor units that could interfere with the wireless signal.
Indoor Unit: Place the indoor unit in a central location within your home or office, where the doorbell can be easily heard and accessed. Ensure it is within the wireless range of the outdoor unit.
2. Mounting the Outdoor Unit
- Mark the desired mounting holes on the wall using the outdoor unit as a template.
- Drill holes at the marked positions.
- Insert wall plugs into the drilled holes.
- Secure the outdoor unit to the wall using the provided screws.
3. Connecting the Indoor Unit
- Connect the power adapter to the indoor unit.
- Plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet. The power indicator on the indoor unit should light up.
- Place the indoor unit on a flat surface or mount it to a wall using appropriate hardware (not always included for indoor unit).
4. Initial Pairing (if required)
Most units come pre-paired. If your units do not communicate, refer to the troubleshooting section or specific pairing instructions that may be included on a separate leaflet. Generally, pairing involves pressing a pairing button on both units within a short timeframe.
Operating Instructions
Receiving a Call:
- When a visitor presses the call button on the outdoor unit, the indoor unit will ring.
- Pick up the indoor handset to answer the call.
- Speak into the handset to communicate with the visitor.
- After the conversation, place the handset back on its cradle.
Two-Way Communication:
The system supports clear two-way audio. Speak clearly into the microphone on the handset, and listen for the visitor's response through the earpiece.
Door Unlock Function (Optional):
If your system is connected to an electric door lock (sold separately and requires professional installation), press the unlock button on the indoor handset during a call to remotely open the door.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surfaces of both units. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Outdoor Unit: Periodically check the outdoor unit for any debris or obstructions around the microphone and speaker. Ensure it remains securely mounted.
