4.1 Installation Type
- Ducted Installation: Smoke and odors are expelled outside through a duct pipe. This method offers optimal performance.
- Ductless Installation: Requires the addition of a charcoal filter (to be purchased separately). Air is filtered and recirculated into the kitchen. Contact customer support for more information on charcoal filters.

5. Operating Instructions
Your Faber Maple Chimney features intuitive touch and gesture controls for ease of use.
5.1 Control Panel
The control panel is located on the front of the chimney. It includes touch-sensitive buttons for power, speed adjustment, light control, and autoclean activation.
5.2 Touch Control
- Power On/Off: Press the power button to turn the chimney on or off.
- Speed Adjustment: Use the speed control buttons to cycle through the 9 available suction speeds.
- Light Control: Press the light button to turn the LED lamps on or off.
- Autoclean Activation: Press the autoclean button to initiate the self-cleaning cycle.
5.3 Gesture Control & Motion Sensor
The chimney can be operated by simple hand gestures, allowing for hands-free control:
- Wave Left/Right: Wave your hand across the sensor to turn the chimney on/off or adjust suction speed.

6. Maintenance & Cleaning
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your chimney.
6.1 Autoclean Function
The Autoclean feature simplifies maintenance by heating the internal components to melt and collect oil residues. Activate this function regularly, especially after heavy cooking.
- Ensure the oil collector is empty before starting the autoclean cycle.
- Press the dedicated autoclean button on the control panel.
- Allow the cycle to complete. The chimney will automatically turn off once finished.

6.2 Built-In Oil Collector
The chimney is equipped with a built-in oil collector to gather the oil and grease extracted from cooking fumes. This collector needs to be emptied and cleaned periodically.
- Carefully remove the oil collector from its housing.
- Empty the collected oil and wash the collector with warm, soapy water.
- Ensure the collector is completely dry before reinserting it.

6.3 Exterior Cleaning
Wipe the exterior surfaces of the chimney with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that can damage the finish.
