5. Setup and Installation
This section outlines the general steps for installing the 4" Suspension Lift Kit. Specific torque specifications and detailed step-by-step instructions for each component should be followed from the included printed instructions or a professional service manual for your vehicle.
5.1. Pre-Installation Checklist
- Gather all necessary tools (e.g., wrenches, sockets, torque wrench, jack, jack stands).
- Ensure the vehicle is on a flat, level surface.
- Disconnect the negative terminal of the vehicle's battery.
- Review the entire installation process before starting.
5.2. General Installation Steps (Overview)
- Safely lift the vehicle and support it using jack stands. Remove wheels.
- Disassemble existing suspension components (shocks, springs, sway bar links, etc.) as required.
- Install new lift springs and shocks. The premium shocks are designed for both on-road and off-road performance, featuring high-pressure nitrogen gas and natural rubber bushings for vibration reduction. They are powder-coated for corrosion resistance.
- Install track bar drop bracket, brake line relocation brackets, and shock relocation brackets.
- Install coil correction plates.
- Reassemble all other necessary components, ensuring proper routing of brake lines and wiring.
- Tighten all fasteners to the vehicle manufacturer's specified torque values.
- Reinstall wheels and lower the vehicle.
- Perform a final inspection of all installed components.

6. Operation and Post-Installation
After the lift kit is installed, it is crucial to perform certain checks and adjustments to ensure safe and optimal vehicle operation.
6.1. Post-Installation Checks
- Alignment: A professional wheel alignment is mandatory immediately after installation to correct camber, caster, and toe angles. Failure to do so can result in premature tire wear and unsafe handling.
- Fastener Torque: Re-check the torque on all fasteners after the first 50-100 miles of driving, and periodically thereafter.
- Brake Line Clearance: Ensure all brake lines and ABS wires have adequate slack and are not pinched or stretched at full suspension droop or compression.
- Driveshaft Clearance: Verify sufficient clearance for the front driveshaft, especially on 2012-2018 models, where exhaust modifications might be needed.
6.2. Driving with a Lift Kit
A lifted vehicle will have a higher center of gravity. Drive cautiously and be aware of changes in handling characteristics, especially during cornering and braking. The 4" lift increases ground and tire clearance, allowing for larger tires (e.g., 35x12.50 R17 with 4.5”-4.75” backspacing) and improved off-road capability.

7. Maintenance
Regular inspection and maintenance are essential to ensure the longevity and safe operation of your maXpeedingrods suspension lift kit.
- Periodic Inspection: Regularly inspect all components of the lift kit for signs of wear, damage, or corrosion. Pay close attention to bushings, bolts, and welds.
- Fastener Checks: Re-torque all suspension fasteners at regular intervals, especially after off-road use. Loose fasteners can lead to premature wear and unsafe conditions.
- Cleaning: Keep the suspension components clean, especially after driving in mud, sand, or corrosive environments. Rinse off dirt and debris to prevent buildup and corrosion.
- Shock Absorbers: While the shocks are powder-coated for corrosion resistance, inspect them for any signs of leaks or damage. Replace if necessary.
