1. Introduction

3. Setup Instructions

3.1 Speaker Stand Assembly

  1. Remove the stand from its carrying bag and place it on a stable, flat surface.
  2. Open the bottom triangular stand legs to form a stable base.
  3. Turn the yellow tightening knob at the bottom clockwise to secure the triangular stand.
  4. Extend the center pole to the desired height and insert the safety pin into the corresponding hole.
  5. Turn the yellow tightening knob at the top to secure the center pole at the chosen height.

3.2 Speaker and Mixer Connection

  1. Place the mixer on a stable surface between the two assembled speaker stands.
  2. Carefully lift each speaker and place it onto the top pole of its respective stand. Ensure the speaker is securely seated.
  3. Connect the speaker cables from the "SPEAKER OUTPUTS" (Right and Left) on the back of the mixer to the "SPEAKER IN" ports on each speaker. Ensure a firm connection.
  4. Connect the power cable to the AC INPUT FUSE port on the mixer, then plug the other end into a suitable power outlet.
  5. Turn on the power switch located next to the AC input.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Mixer Controls Overview

The MX-P12 mixer features a 10-channel layout with individual controls for each input, along with master controls and digital effects. Refer to the diagram below for a detailed breakdown of each control.

  • EQ Knobs (HIGH, MID, LOW): Adjust the treble, midrange, and bass frequencies for each channel.

4.2 Connecting Audio Sources

The MX-P12 offers various input options:

  • Microphones/Instruments: Connect microphones to the MIC input jacks (XLR) and instruments to the LINE IN input jacks (1/4" TRS) on channels 1-10. Adjust the GAIN knob for appropriate input level.
  • Bluetooth Devices: Press the Bluetooth button on the mixer. The digital display will show "BT". On your mobile device, search for "EXOTON" in Bluetooth settings and pair.
  • USB Drive: Insert a USB drive into the USB port. The mixer will automatically detect and play compatible audio files. Use the playback controls (Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track, REPEAT) on the mixer.
  • External Devices (RCA): Connect devices like CD players or other audio sources to the CD IN (RCA) inputs.

4.3 Adjusting Sound Effects and EQ

  • Digital Effects: The mixer offers 99 digital effects. Use the Up/Down arrow buttons to select an effect number displayed on the Digital Display. Adjust the PARAM knob to fine-tune the selected effect. Use the FX knob on each channel to apply the effect to that specific input.
  • 7-Band Graphic Equalizer: Use the sliders on the 7-Band Graphic Equalizer to adjust the overall frequency response of the main output. This allows for precise sound shaping to suit the venue or audio material.
  • Channel EQ: Use the HIGH, MID, and LOW EQ knobs on each channel to adjust the tone of individual inputs.

4.4 USB Recording

To record audio directly to a USB drive, insert the drive into the USB port and press the REC button. The mixer supports plug-and-play recording, allowing you to capture your performance or mix. You can also connect the mixer to a computer via the USB-B port for recording using compatible software.

4.5 Phantom Power

The mixer provides +48V phantom power for condenser microphones on channels 1-6. Activate the +48V Phantom Power Switch when using condenser microphones. Ensure dynamic microphones are not connected when phantom power is active, as this may cause damage.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surfaces of the mixer and speakers. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the PA system in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Cable Care: Regularly inspect all cables for damage. Replace frayed or damaged cables immediately to prevent electrical hazards and ensure optimal performance.
  • Ventilation: Ensure proper ventilation around the mixer to prevent overheating. Do not block ventilation openings.

6. Troubleshooting
