5. Installation

The EASYGUARD Plug & Play Remote Starter is designed for a straightforward installation. However, it is highly recommended that installation be performed by a trained staff member or a professional alarm installer, especially if you lack experience with car alarm or electrical system installations.

The system utilizes a plug-and-play design, meaning it connects directly to existing vehicle connectors without requiring cutting or splicing of wires, thus preventing damage to the car's original circuit.

Refer to the provided wiring diagrams and your vehicle's specific service manual for detailed connection points.

6. Operation

To operate the remote starter, use your vehicle's factory original remote control.

Remote Start/Stop Procedure:

  1. Ensure all doors are closed and locked.
  2. Press the Lock button on your factory remote control three times consecutively (Lock-Lock-Lock).
  3. The vehicle's engine will start. The parking lights may illuminate to indicate the vehicle is running.
  4. To stop the engine remotely, repeat the Lock button three times consecutively.

Safety Feature:

After the vehicle has been remote started, if any door is opened, the engine will automatically shut down for safety reasons. To drive the vehicle, you must enter, close the door, and press the push-start button to restart the engine normally.

7. Programming Procedure

After the physical installation is complete, the system requires a programming procedure to synchronize with your vehicle. Follow these steps carefully:

Programming procedure steps: 1. Plug all connectors. 2. Press push start button twice (ignition on). 3. LED turns red, then off, then green, then off. 4. Press push start button once (shut down).

Image: A visual guide to the programming steps for the remote starter module.

  1. Ensure the ignition is OFF before starting the programming.
  2. Plug all connectors into the Control Module.
  3. Do NOT step on the foot brake pedal. Press the push-start button twice to turn the ignition ON (without starting the engine).
  4. Observe the LED indicator on the control module. It will turn red, then turn off, wait for approximately 5 seconds, then turn green, and finally turn off.
  5. Press the push-start button once to shut down the vehicle.

The programming procedure is now finished.

Note: If the programming procedure is abnormal or unsuccessful, please program again or reset the module first, then attempt programming until successful. Between each step, the LED indicator on the control module will turn pure red, which is the default setting.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your EASYGUARD Remote Starter, please refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • System not responding: Check all connections to ensure they are securely plugged in. Verify the vehicle's battery is charged.
  • Remote start fails: Ensure all doors, hood, and trunk are closed. Confirm the vehicle is in Park (P). Check if the programming procedure was completed successfully.
  • Engine shuts down unexpectedly: This is a safety feature if a door is opened after remote start. If it occurs without a door opening, re-check connections and programming.
  • LED indicator behavior: Refer to the programming section for expected LED sequences. Abnormal patterns may indicate a connection issue or programming error.

For persistent issues, please contact customer support or consult a professional installer.
