2. Safety Information

Read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before operating the engine. Failure to do so can result in serious injury or death.

  • Fuel Safety: Gasoline is highly flammable. Always refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke or allow open flames near the engine or fuel. Store fuel in approved containers.
  • Exhaust Fumes: Engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas. Operate the engine only in well-ventilated outdoor areas. Never operate indoors.
  • Hot Surfaces: The engine and exhaust system become very hot during operation and remain hot for some time after shutdown. Avoid contact to prevent burns.
  • Moving Parts: Keep hands, feet, and clothing away from rotating parts such as the flywheel and shaft.
  • Electrical Safety: Ensure all electrical connections are secure and insulated. Disconnect the battery before performing any maintenance.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear appropriate PPE, including eye protection, gloves, and hearing protection, when operating or servicing the engine.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the engine, especially during operation.

4.5 Battery Connection for Electric Start

The engine features an electric starter. Connect an external 12V battery (not included) to the engine's electrical system. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -) to prevent damage. The engine's integrated 15A charging coil can provide up to 200W for external electrical devices, but it requires the engine to be running.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Pre-Start Checks

  • Check engine oil level and add if necessary.
  • Ensure the external fuel tank is filled with fresh gasoline and the fuel line is connected.
  • Verify battery connections are secure.
  • Inspect air filter for cleanliness.
  • Ensure all safety guards are in place and fasteners are tight.

5.2 Starting the Engine (Electric Start)

  1. Ensure the equipment's throttle control is in the 'START' or 'CHOKE' position (if applicable).
  2. Turn the ignition key to the 'START' position.
  3. Release the key once the engine starts. Do not crank for more than 5 seconds at a time. If the engine does not start, wait 10 seconds before trying again.
  4. Once the engine is running, gradually move the throttle to the 'RUN' position. Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes before applying load.

5.3 Engine Operation

Operate the engine at the appropriate speed for the task. The nominal engine power is 21.7 HP at 3600 rpm. The maximum idle speed is 3000±100 rpm, and the no-load speed is 1800±150 rpm. Avoid operating at excessively high or low RPMs for extended periods.

5.4 Stopping the Engine

To stop the engine, move the throttle control to the 'STOP' or 'OFF' position, or turn the ignition key to 'OFF'.

5.5 Using the Charging Coil

The integrated 15A charging coil allows for connecting electrical devices up to 200W. Ensure the engine is running when using this feature. Consult an electrician if you are unsure about connecting external devices.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your Loncin LC2P77F engine. Always perform maintenance with the engine off and cool, and disconnect the battery.

6.1 Engine Oil

  • Check Oil Level: Check the oil level before each use.
  • Change Oil: Change the engine oil after the first 20 hours of operation, and then every 50-100 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Refer to the 'Specifications' for recommended oil type.

6.2 Air Filter

Inspect the air filter regularly (every 25 hours or more frequently in dusty conditions). Clean or replace the air filter element as needed to ensure proper engine breathing and prevent dirt ingress.

6.3 Spark Plug

Inspect the spark plug every 100 hours or annually. Clean or replace if necessary. Use the recommended spark plug type and ensure proper gap setting.

6.4 Fuel System

Periodically check fuel lines for cracks or leaks. Ensure the external fuel tank and lines are clean and free of debris. If storing the engine for an extended period, drain the fuel system or use a fuel stabilizer.

6.5 Cooling System

The engine is equipped with an oil pressure sensor and an oil cooler for improved cooling. Keep the cooling fins and air intake clear of debris to ensure efficient heat dissipation.
