Setup

Unboxing

Upon opening the package, ensure all components are present:

Initial Charging

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge your keyboard. Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the charging port on the keyboard and the other end to a USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter).

Connectivity

The Alto Keys K98M keyboard supports two wireless connection methods: Bluetooth and Logi Bolt USB Receiver.

Bluetooth Connection

  1. Ensure the keyboard is powered on.
  2. Press and hold one of the Easy-Switch keys (F1, F2, or F3) for 3 seconds until the LED indicator above the key starts blinking rapidly, indicating pairing mode.
  3. On your device (computer, tablet, smartphone), open Bluetooth settings and select "Logitech K98M" from the list of available devices.
  4. Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process. The LED will turn solid when connected.

Logi Bolt Receiver Connection

  1. Plug the Logi Bolt USB Receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  2. Ensure the keyboard is powered on.
  3. The keyboard should automatically connect to the receiver. If not, press one of the Easy-Switch keys (F1, F2, or F3) briefly to select an available channel, then press and hold it for 3 seconds to initiate pairing.
  4. The LED indicator will turn solid when connected.

Multi-Device Switching (Easy-Switch)

The Alto Keys K98M allows you to connect to up to three devices and switch between them seamlessly using the Easy-Switch keys (F1, F2, F3). Simply press the desired F-key corresponding to the device you wish to use. The LED above the key will illuminate to indicate the active connection.

Software Installation

To unlock the full customization potential of your keyboard, download and install the Logi Options+ software. This application allows you to customize key functions, manage device connections, and more.

  • Visit app.logi.com to download the latest version of Logi Options+.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software on your Windows or macOS device.

Operating the Keyboard

Basic Functions

The Alto Keys K98M functions as a standard 98-key mechanical keyboard. All standard alphanumeric, symbol, and function keys operate as expected. The dedicated number pad provides convenience for data entry.

Backlight Control

The keyboard features an adjustable white backlight. Use the F4 key to cycle through brightness levels.

    • For Bluetooth, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and try re-pairing.
    • For Logi Bolt, ensure the receiver is securely plugged into a working USB port. Try a different USB port.
    • Restart your computer/device.
  • Keys not registering or double-typing:
    • Check for debris under the keycap. Use compressed air to clear.
    • If a specific switch is faulty, consider replacing it due to the hot-swappable design.
    • Ensure Logi Options+ software is up to date.
  • Backlight not working or dim:
    • Press F4 repeatedly to cycle through brightness levels.
    • Ensure the keyboard has sufficient battery charge.
    • Check Logi Options+ settings for any backlight controls.
  • Logi Options+ software not detecting keyboard:
    • Ensure the keyboard is connected to your computer (via Bluetooth or Logi Bolt).

    • Reinstall Logi Options+ if the issue persists.
