4. Initial Setup
4.1 Battery Installation and Removal
To install the battery, align the battery pack with the back of the radio and slide it upwards until it clicks into place. To remove, press the battery release button located on the top rear of the radio and slide the battery pack downwards.
4.2 Antenna Attachment
Screw the antenna clockwise into the connector on the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.
4.3 Belt Clip Attachment
The belt clip can be attached to the back of the radio for convenient carrying. It typically screws into designated holes on the battery pack. Ensure the battery is removed before attaching or detaching the belt clip.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off and Volume Adjustment
Rotate the top knob clockwise to power on the radio. Continue rotating clockwise to increase the volume, and counter-clockwise to decrease it. Rotate fully counter-clockwise until a click is heard to power off the radio.

5.2 Channel Selection
The K5plus supports up to 999 channels. Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys on the keypad to navigate through available channels. The current channel number will be displayed on the LCD.
5.3 Push-to-Talk (PTT)
To transmit, press and hold the PTT button on the left side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to return to receive mode.
5.4 One-Touch Frequency Copy
