1. Introduction

The MHCOZY eWelink Micro WiFi USB Smart Adaptor (Model SMT196) transforms standard USB-powered devices into smart devices, allowing remote control and automation via the eWelink application. This adaptor supports both USB-A and USB-C outputs and integrates with voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa and Google Home. It is designed for controlling 5-12V DC USB devices, enabling scheduling and remote management.

Note: This adaptor provides power supply only and does not support data transmission.

2. Safety Information

• Ensure the input voltage is within the specified range of DC 5-12V.
• Do not exceed the maximum output current: 5V/2.5A or 12V/1A.
• Avoid exposing the device to water, moisture, or extreme temperatures.

4. Product Overview

5. Setup

5.1. Download the eWelink App

1. Search for "eWelink" in the Apple App Store (for iOS devices) or Google Play Store (for Android devices).
2. Download and install the application.
3. Register a new account or log in with an existing one.

5.2. Powering the Adaptor

1. Plug the USB Type-A male end of the smart adaptor into a compatible USB power source (e.g., a wall charger, power bank, or computer USB port).
2. The LED indicator on the adaptor will illuminate, indicating it is powered on.

5.3. Pairing with the eWelink App

1. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
2. Open the eWelink app.
3. Press and hold the pairing button (if available, otherwise the main button) on the smart adaptor for approximately 5 seconds until the LED indicator blinks rapidly. This indicates pairing mode.
4. In the eWelink app, tap the "+" icon to add a new device.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to detect and add the "Micro USB Smart Adaptor". You may need to confirm your Wi-Fi network and password.
6. Once successfully paired, the LED indicator will stop blinking and remain solid.

5.4. Connecting USB Devices

After pairing, you can connect your USB-powered devices to the adaptor's output ports.

1. Plug your USB-A or USB-C powered device (e.g., LED light strip, USB fan, USB lamp) into the corresponding output port on the smart adaptor.
2. The connected device will now be controllable via the eWelink app.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. eWelink App Control

Once the adaptor is paired, you can control your connected USB devices through the eWelink app:

• On/Off Control: Tap the device icon in the app to toggle power for the connected USB devices.
• Scheduling: Set specific times for devices to turn on or off automatically.
• Timer: Configure a countdown timer to automatically switch off devices after a set duration.
• Loop Timer: Create recurring on/off cycles.

6.2. Voice Control (Alexa & Google Home)

The smart adaptor is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home for hands-free control.

1. Link eWelink to Voice Assistant:
   • Open the Alexa app or Google Home app.
   • Navigate to "Skills & Games" (Alexa) or "Works with Google" (Google Home).
   • Search for "eWelink" and enable the skill/service.
   • Link your eWelink account when prompted.
2. Discover Devices: Once linked, ask your voice assistant to "Discover devices" or manually add the device in the app.
3. Voice Commands: Use commands such as:
   • "Alexa, turn on [Device Name]."
   • "Hey Google, turn off [Device Name]."
   • "Alexa, set [Device Name] to turn off in 30 minutes."

7. Maintenance

• Clean the adaptor with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners.
• Ensure the adaptor is unplugged before cleaning.
• Store in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.

8. Troubleshooting

• Device not powering on:
  • Ensure the adaptor is securely plugged into a working USB power source.
  • Verify the power source is active.
• Unable to pair with eWelink app:
  • Confirm your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The adaptor does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
  • Ensure the adaptor is in pairing mode (LED blinking rapidly). If not, press and hold the button to re-enter pairing mode.
  • Move the adaptor closer to your Wi-Fi router.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router and try again.
• Connected USB device not responding:
  • Check if the adaptor itself is powered on and connected to the app.
  • Ensure the USB device is properly plugged into the adaptor.
  • Verify the USB device is functional when connected directly to a power source.
  • Confirm the USB device's power requirements do not exceed the adaptor's maximum output (5V/2.5A or 12V/1A).
• Voice control not working:
  • Ensure the eWelink skill/service is enabled and linked correctly in your Alexa or Google Home app.
  • Verify the device name used in voice commands matches the name in the eWelink app and voice assistant app.
  • Check your internet connection.
