Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the dehumidifier and all accessories from the packaging.
  2. Positioning: Place the dehumidifier on a flat, stable surface. Ensure there is at least 20 cm (8 inches) of clear space around the air inlets and outlets for optimal airflow.
  3. Initial Standby: After transport, allow the unit to stand upright for at least 24 hours before plugging it in. This allows the refrigerant to settle, ensuring proper and reliable operation.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
  5. Drainage Setup (Choose one):
    • Water Tank Drainage: Ensure the 3.3L water tank is correctly inserted into the unit. The unit will automatically stop operation when the tank is full and alert you.
    • Continuous Drainage: For continuous operation without emptying the tank, connect the supplied 1-meter drain hose to the continuous drainage port at the back of the unit. Ensure the hose is sloped downwards to allow water to drain by gravity into a suitable receptacle or floor drain.

Operating Instructions

  1. Sleep Mode / Child Lock Button
  2. Fan Speed Button (High / Low)
  3. Mode Button (Automatic / Laundry Drying / Continuous Dehumidification)

Starting the Dehumidifier:

  1. Press the Power button to turn on the unit. The LED display will show the current room humidity.
  2. Setting Desired Humidity: Press the Humidity Setting button repeatedly to select your desired humidity level (30% to 80% RH). The unit will operate until this level is reached, then cycle on and off to maintain it. Recommended humidity levels:
    • Living Areas: 45–55% RH
    • Laundry Room: 35–40% RH (for faster drying)
    • Basement/Storage: 40–50% RH
  3. Selecting Fan Speed: Press the Fan Speed button to switch between High and Low fan speeds.

Operating Modes:

The KNKA dehumidifier offers four intelligent operating modes:

  • Automatic Mode: The unit automatically adjusts humidity and fan speed based on the ambient humidity to maintain a comfortable environment. Ideal for general living spaces.

  • Laundry Drying Mode: Operates at a fixed high fan speed and low humidity setting to quickly dry clothes.

  • Continuous Dehumidification Mode: The unit runs continuously regardless of the humidity level. Suitable for extremely damp areas like basements or storage rooms.

  • Sleep Mode: Reduces fan speed to low, turns off display lights, and operates quietly (35 dB) for undisturbed sleep.

Timer Function:

Press the Timer button to set the desired operating time (1-24 hours). The unit will automatically turn off or on after the set time. This function is useful for scheduling operation to fit your daily routine.

Child Lock:

To activate or deactivate the child lock, press and hold the Sleep/Lock button for 3 seconds. When activated, the control panel buttons will be locked to prevent accidental changes.

Automatic Restart and Memory Function:

In case of a power outage, the unit will automatically restart with the last saved settings once power is restored. This ensures continuous dehumidification without manual intervention, especially useful for basements or storage areas.

Maintenance

Emptying the Water Tank:

When the water tank is full, the unit will automatically shut off, and an alarm will sound. The LED display will show a "Full Tank" indicator. Carefully pull out the water tank from the front of the unit, empty the collected water, and then reinsert the tank firmly until it clicks into place.

Cleaning the Air Filter:

The removable air filter helps keep the interior of the dehumidifier clean and improves air circulation. It is recommended to clean the filter every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.

  1. Turn off the unit and unplug it from the power outlet.
  2. Locate the air filter cover at the back of the unit.
  3. Remove the filter.
  4. Clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner or wash it gently with warm water and mild detergent.
  5. Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting it.
  6. Reinsert the dry filter and close the cover.

Cleaning the Unit Exterior:

Wipe the exterior of the dehumidifier with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasives, or solvents, as these may damage the surface.

Storage:

If the unit will not be used for an extended period, empty the water tank, clean the filter, and store the unit in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Utilize the integrated cable storage to keep the power cord tidy.
