1. Introduction
The Raddy R7 Wireless Remote Sensor is designed to expand the monitoring capabilities of your Raddy N75 and N80 home weather stations, as well as the PT-3 pool thermometer. This sensor accurately measures and transmits temperature and humidity data, allowing you to monitor environmental conditions in various locations.

Figure 1: Raddy R7 Wireless Remote Sensor
This image displays the front of the Raddy R7 Wireless Sensor. It is a white rectangular device with a black LCD screen in the upper half, showing "WIRELESS SENSOR" at the top, "24.0℃" and "63%" for temperature and humidity, and "CH1" for channel. The Raddy logo is printed below the screen, and three small vertical lines are at the bottom, indicating a signal or vent.
Key Features:
- Digital LCD Display: Features an upgraded digital LCD screen for clear display of channel number, current temperature, and humidity. Supports both Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉) units.
- Wide Compatibility: Designed to work seamlessly with Raddy N75, N80 home weather stations, and the PT-3 pool thermometer.
- Wireless Transmission: Offers a wireless transmission range of up to 100 meters (328 feet) in open areas.
- Broad Measurement Range: Capable of measuring temperatures from -40℃ to 60℃ (-40℉ to 140℉) and humidity from 1% to 99%.
- Battery Powered: Operates on 2 replaceable AA batteries (not included).

Figure 2: Raddy R7 Sensor Compatibility
This image illustrates the Raddy R7 Wireless Sensor alongside its compatible main units. The R7 sensor is shown on the left. On the top right, the Raddy N75 weather station is displayed, showing temperature, humidity, and forecast icons. Below it, the Raddy N80 weather station is shown with a more detailed display including time, date, and multiple environmental readings. At the bottom left, the Raddy PT-3 pool thermometer is depicted, floating in water, with its own display of temperature and humidity.
2. Setup and Installation
2.1 Battery Installation
- Ensure the main weather station or pool thermometer (N75, N80, or PT-3) has its batteries installed and is powered on first. This is crucial for proper synchronization.
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the R7 sensor.
- Remove the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 2 AA batteries (not included) into the compartment, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the battery compartment cover securely.

This image shows the Raddy R7 Wireless Sensor with its back cover removed, revealing the battery compartment. There are two slots for AA batteries, with clear markings for positive and negative terminals.
2.2 Sensor Placement Recommendations
Optimal placement ensures accurate readings and reliable wireless transmission.
- Vertical Orientation: Always place the remote sensor vertically for best performance.
- Outdoor Protection: When placed outdoors, ensure the sensor is in a shaded area and protected from direct rain, snow, or sunlight.
- Interference Avoidance: Position the sensor away from sources of electromagnetic interference, such as large metal objects, electronic devices, or thick walls.
- Height: Mount the sensor at least 1.2 meters (4 feet) above the ground.

Figure 4: Correct Usage and Placement
This image provides a visual guide for the correct placement of the Raddy R7 Wireless Sensor. It shows four pairs of illustrations:
1. Stand upright: A green checkmark next to a sensor placed vertically on a shelf, contrasted with a red 'X' next to a sensor lying flat.
2. Covered by shade with fresh air: A green checkmark next to a sensor placed under a roof overhang, contrasted with a red 'X' next to a sensor exposed to direct sun or rain.
3. Far from interfering sources: A green checkmark next to a sensor on a wall away from other objects, contrasted with a red 'X' next to a sensor near a metal gate.
4. At least 1.2m from the ground: A green checkmark next to a sensor mounted high on a wall, contrasted with a red 'X' next to a sensor placed close to the ground.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Synchronization with Main Unit
After installing batteries in both the main unit and the R7 sensor, the sensor should automatically attempt to synchronize with the main unit.
- Ensure both devices are within the wireless transmission range.
- The R7 sensor's LCD display will show the channel number (e.g., CH1) and current temperature/humidity once connected.
- Refer to your main unit's (N75, N80, or PT-3) instruction manual for specific steps on adding or re-synchronizing remote sensors.
3.2 Temperature Unit Selection (℃/℉)
The R7 sensor's display supports switching between Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉).
- Locate the ℃/℉ button, usually inside the battery compartment or on the back of the sensor.
- Press the button to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit. The display will update accordingly.
4. Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the sensor's display or the main unit. Use high-quality AA batteries. For temperatures below -10℃ (14℉), consider using cold-resistant batteries to ensure consistent performance.
- Cleaning: Wipe the sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the sensor in water.
- Storage: If storing the sensor for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
5. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No readings on main unit from R7 sensor. |
|
|
| Inaccurate temperature/humidity readings. |
|
|
| Sensor display is blank or dim. |
