2. Setup and Installation

2.1 Battery Installation

  1. Ensure the main weather station or pool thermometer (N75, N80, or PT-3) has its batteries installed and is powered on first. This is crucial for proper synchronization.
  2. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the R7 sensor.
  3. Remove the battery compartment cover.
  4. Insert 2 AA batteries (not included) into the compartment, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
  5. Replace the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Covered by shade with fresh air: A green checkmark next to a sensor placed under a roof overhang, contrasted with a red 'X' next to a sensor exposed to direct sun or rain.
3. Far from interfering sources: A green checkmark next to a sensor on a wall away from other objects, contrasted with a red 'X' next to a sensor near a metal gate.
4. At least 1.2m from the ground: A green checkmark next to a sensor mounted high on a wall, contrasted with a red 'X' next to a sensor placed close to the ground.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Synchronization with Main Unit

After installing batteries in both the main unit and the R7 sensor, the sensor should automatically attempt to synchronize with the main unit.

3.2 Temperature Unit Selection (℃/℉)

The R7 sensor's display supports switching between Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉).

4. Maintenance

5. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No readings on main unit from R7 sensor.
  • Batteries are low or incorrectly installed.
  • Sensor is out of range or obstructed.
  • Synchronization issue.
  • Replace batteries in both main unit and sensor, ensuring correct polarity.
  • Move sensor closer to the main unit and ensure no major obstructions (e.g., thick walls, metal objects).
  • Re-synchronize the sensor with the main unit (refer to main unit's manual).
Inaccurate temperature/humidity readings.
  • Sensor exposed to direct sunlight, rain, or heat sources.
  • Poor air circulation around the sensor.
  • Relocate the sensor to a shaded, protected area with good air circulation.
  • Ensure the sensor is not near vents, windows, or appliances that emit heat/cold.
Sensor display is blank or dim.
  • Low batteries.
  • Extreme temperatures affecting LCD.
  • Replace batteries.
  • Move the sensor to an environment within its operating temperature range.
