Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for optimal performance and safety:

  1. Choose an Optimal Location: Select a location that receives direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours daily to ensure the solar panel charges effectively. Avoid areas under eaves, trees, or other obstructions that might block sunlight or motion detection.
  2. Mounting Height: For best motion detection, install the light at a height of approximately 6-10 feet (1.8-3 meters) from the ground.
  3. Mark Drilling Points: Use the wall bracket as a template to mark the two drilling points on the desired mounting surface.
  4. Drill Holes: Drill holes at the marked points. Insert the plastic anchors into the drilled holes.
  5. Secure the Bracket: Align the wall bracket with the anchors and secure it using the provided screws.
  6. Attach the Light: Slide the solar light unit onto the secured wall bracket until it clicks into place.
  7. Adjust Light Heads and Solar Panel: Adjust the three light heads to cover the desired illumination area. The solar panel can also be angled to maximize sun exposure. The light heads are adjustable up to 135 degrees vertically and 90 degrees horizontally.

Operating Instructions

The WdtPro Solar Light features a touch control method to cycle through its three lighting modes:

  • Mode 1: Security Burst (Motion Sensor Mode)

The light remains off until motion is detected. Upon detection, it illuminates at 100% brightness for 25 seconds, then turns off. This mode is designed for maximum security and energy saving.

  • Mode 2: 12hr Night Guard (Low Light + Motion Sensor)

The light stays on at a continuous 20% ambient brightness throughout the night. When motion is detected, it brightens to 100% for 25 seconds, then returns to 20% brightness. Ideal for continuous subtle illumination with enhanced security.

  • Mode 3: Strong Light (Motion-Activated 100% Brightness)

The light remains off during the day. At night, it activates to 100% brightness when motion is detected and stays on as long as motion is present, turning off after 25 seconds of no motion. This mode provides strong, on-demand lighting.

To switch between modes, locate the touch control button, usually on the underside or back of the main unit, and press it repeatedly until the desired mode is active.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your solar light:

  • Clean the Solar Panel: Periodically wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, leaves, or snow. A clean panel ensures maximum sunlight absorption and charging efficiency.
  • Check for Obstructions: Ensure no new obstructions (e.g., growing branches, new structures) are blocking direct sunlight to the solar panel or interfering with the motion sensor's field of view.
  • Inspect for Damage: Occasionally check the light unit, wiring, and mounting for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections.
  • Battery Care: While the battery is designed for long life, prolonged periods of low sunlight may reduce its charge. If possible, ensure the light receives adequate sunlight, especially after extended cloudy periods.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Light does not turn on at night.
  • Insufficient solar charge.
  • Solar panel is dirty or obstructed.
  • Light switch is off or in an incorrect mode.
  • Ensure the solar panel receives 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily.
  • Clean the solar panel.
  • Check the operating mode and ensure it's set correctly (e.g., Mode 1 or 2 for night operation).
Motion sensor is not detecting movement.
  • Sensor is obstructed.
  • Detection range is too far or angle is incorrect.
  • Ambient light is too high.
  • Clear any obstructions from the sensor.
  • Adjust the light heads and ensure the sensor is facing the desired detection area.
  • Ensure the light is installed in a dark area for night operation.
Light stays on continuously or flashes.
  • Incorrect mode selected.
  • Sensor malfunction.
  • Cycle through the modes to ensure the correct one is selected.
  • Contact customer support if the issue persists after checking modes and environment.
