1. Product Overview

The LG xboom Grab is a portable Bluetooth speaker designed for outdoor use, offering robust sound and durability. It features IP67 dust and water resistance, military-grade durability, and adjustable carrying straps for convenience. The speaker provides up to 20 hours of music playback and incorporates adaptive sound and lighting technologies.

Upon unboxing your LG xboom Grab speaker, ensure all the following items are present:

3. Setup

3.1 Powering On/Off and Initial Bluetooth Pairing

To power on your LG xboom Grab speaker, press the power button located on the control panel. The LED indicator will blink, then stay solid blue when connected via Bluetooth. To power off, press and hold the power button.

3.2 Charging the Speaker

Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the charging port on the speaker and to a compatible USB power adapter (not included). The charging time is approximately 3 hours for a full charge.

3.3 LG ThinQ App Setup

For enhanced control and features, download the LG ThinQ app on your smartphone. Scan the QR code provided in the Quick Setup Guide or search for 'LG ThinQ' in your device's app store. Register your xboom Grab speaker within the app to access personalized sound and lighting settings, multi-playback modes, and Auracast features.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Controls

The control panel on the speaker allows for easy management of playback and settings:

4.2 Sound and Lighting Modes

Customize your audio experience with various sound and lighting modes, accessible via the LG ThinQ app. Adaptive technologies personalize sound and lighting to the genre you’re vibing with and the space you’re in.

4.3 Multi-Phone Pairing

The xboom Grab speaker supports multi-phone pairing, allowing two smartphones to be connected simultaneously. Music can be played from either device, with the most recently played audio taking priority.

4.4 Multi-Mode and Dual Mode

Enhance your audio experience by connecting multiple LG xboom speakers. Use the Party Link button on the main speaker to initiate Multi-Mode for a richer sound experience, or double-click for Dual Mode to achieve stereo sound with two identical speakers. Refer to Video 4.3 for detailed instructions.

4.5 Auracast™ Broadcast Listening

Auracast™ is a new Bluetooth technology that allows you to listen to broadcasts transmitted from one device to various Auracast™ receivers. Both Android and iPhone users can listen to Auracast™ broadcasts using the ThinQ® app. This feature is ideal for listening to silent TV broadcasts, conference interpretation channels, museum docent broadcasts, or sharing music with friends.

4.6 Speakerphone Function

The LG xboom Grab speaker can be used as a speakerphone for hands-free calls. When a call comes in, the music will pause, and you can answer directly through the speaker.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To clean the speaker, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. If the speaker gets wet, ensure it is completely dry before charging or using it again.

5.2 Water and Dust Resistance (IP67)

The LG xboom Grab is rated IP67, meaning it is dust-tight and water-resistant. It can be immersed in fresh water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. While durable, avoid prolonged exposure to water or dust, and do not charge the device while wet.

5.3 Storage

Store the speaker in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use for extended periods.
