2. Important Safety Instructions

4. Setup and Installation

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the microwave oven from its packaging. Retain the packaging materials for future transport or storage if needed.
2. Placement: Place the oven on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation space around the oven: at least 20 cm (8 inches) above, 10 cm (4 inches) at the rear, and 5 cm (2 inches) on each side. Do not block any ventilation openings.
3. Power Connection: Ensure the voltage indicated on the rating label matches your household power supply. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
4. Turntable Assembly:
   • Place the turntable ring securely in the center depression on the oven floor.
   • Place the glass turntable on top of the turntable ring, ensuring it sits properly on the central hub.

5. Operating Instructions

The ZLN1245 microwave oven features an intuitive control panel for easy operation.

5.1 Control Panel Overview

• LED Display: Shows time, power level, and program indicators.
• Auto Menu Button: Selects pre-set automatic cooking programs.
• Time/Weight/Power Knob: Used to adjust cooking time, defrost weight, or power level.
• Start Button: Begins the cooking process.
• Clear/Cancel Button: Stops cooking, clears settings, or cancels a program.

5.2 Setting the Clock

1. When the oven is plugged in, the display will show "0:00".
2. Turn the Time/Weight/Power Knob to set the hour.
3. Press the Start Button to confirm the hour.
4. Turn the Time/Weight/Power Knob to set the minutes.
5. Press the Start Button to confirm the minutes. The clock is now set.

5.3 Microwave Cooking

1. Place food in a microwave-safe container on the glass turntable. Close the door.
2. Turn the Time/Weight/Power Knob to select the desired power level (P100 for 100% power, P80 for 80%, etc.). The ZLN1245 offers 6 power levels.
3. Press the Start Button to confirm the power level.
4. Turn the Time/Weight/Power Knob to set the cooking time (up to 95 minutes).
5. Press the Start Button to begin cooking.

Power Levels:

• P100 (100%): High power for fast cooking and reheating.
• P80 (80%): Medium-high power for general cooking.
• P60 (60%): Medium power for slower cooking or delicate foods.
• P40 (40%): Medium-low power for simmering or melting.
• P20 (20%): Low power for gentle cooking or keeping food warm.
• P0 (0%): Standby (no microwave power).

5.4 Automatic Cooking Programs

The ZLN1245 includes 4 pre-set automatic cooking programs for common items:

1. Press the Auto Menu Button repeatedly to cycle through the programs:
   • 1. Coffee/Milk
   • 2. Rice
   • 3. Spaghetti
   • 4. Potatoes
2. Once the desired program is displayed, turn the Time/Weight/Power Knob to select the quantity or weight (if applicable for the program).
3. Press the Start Button to begin the automatic cooking program.

5.5 Defrost Function

The defrost function allows you to defrost food by time or by weight.

Defrost by Weight:

1. Place the frozen food on the glass turntable.
2. Press the Defrost Button (often integrated with the power/time knob or a dedicated button, refer to your specific control panel markings).
3. Turn the Time/Weight/Power Knob to select the weight of the food (e.g., 200g, 500g).
4. Press the Start Button to begin defrosting.

Defrost by Time:

1. Place the frozen food on the glass turntable.
2. Press the Defrost Button.
3. Turn the Time/Weight/Power Knob to set the desired defrosting time.
4. Press the Start Button to begin defrosting.

Note: For best results, turn food over halfway through the defrosting cycle.

5.6 Child Lock Function

The child lock prevents accidental operation of the microwave oven.

To Activate Child Lock:

• In standby mode, press and hold the Clear/Cancel Button for approximately 3 seconds.
• A lock indicator (e.g., "LOCK" or a key icon) will appear on the display, and the oven will beep.

To Deactivate Child Lock:

• Press and hold the Clear/Cancel Button for approximately 3 seconds.
• The lock indicator will disappear, and the oven will beep, indicating it is ready for use.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your microwave oven.

• Always unplug the oven before cleaning.
• Interior Cleaning: Wipe the inside of the oven with a damp cloth after each use. For stubborn stains, use a mild detergent or a microwave-safe cleaner. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
• Exterior Cleaning: Clean the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid getting water into the ventilation openings.
