3. Setup

1. Unboxing: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all accessories are present.
2. Placement: Place the coffee machine on a stable, flat, and dry surface, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
3. Water Tank: Remove the 1.5-liter water tank from the back of the machine. Wash it with clean water and fill it to the MAX level. Reinsert the water tank securely.

4. Initial Rinse: Before first use, perform an initial rinse cycle without coffee. Plug in the machine, turn it on, and let it heat up. Place a cup under the dispenser and run a cycle to flush out any manufacturing residue. Repeat this process 2-3 times.
5. Drip Tray: Ensure the drip tray is correctly positioned.

4. Operating Instructions

The Tornado LA TCM7042-GS offers multiple brewing options. Always ensure the water tank is filled before operation.

4.1. General Operation

1. Power On: Plug the machine into a suitable power outlet and press the power button. The indicator light will illuminate, and the machine will begin heating.
2. Heating: Wait for the machine to reach its optimal brewing temperature. The indicator light will typically stop flashing or change color when ready.

4.2. Using Capsules (Nespresso, Dolce Gusto, Lavazza Blue)

1. Insert Adapter: Select the appropriate adapter for your capsule type and insert it into the machine.
2. Insert Capsule: Place the capsule into the adapter.
3. Close Lever: Close the lever firmly to secure the capsule.
4. Select Cup Size: Choose your desired cup size (e.g., small, large) using the control panel buttons.
5. Brew: Press the brew button. The machine will dispense coffee.
6. Eject Capsule: After brewing, lift the lever to eject the used capsule into the internal collection bin.

4.3. Using ESE Pods

1. Insert ESE Pod Adapter: Place the ESE pod adapter into the machine.
2. Insert ESE Pod: Place one ESE pod into the adapter.
3. Close Lever: Close the lever firmly.
4. Select Cup Size: Choose your desired cup size.
5. Brew: Press the brew button.
6. Remove Pod: After brewing, remove the used ESE pod.

4.4. Using Ground Coffee

1. Insert Ground Coffee Filter: Place the ground coffee filter into the machine.
2. Add Ground Coffee: Add the desired amount of ground coffee to the filter. Do not overfill.
3. Tamp (Optional): Lightly tamp the coffee grounds if desired for a stronger brew.
4. Close Lever: Close the lever firmly.
5. Select Cup Size: Choose your desired cup size.
6. Brew: Press the brew button.
7. Remove Filter: After brewing, carefully remove and clean the ground coffee filter.

5. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure optimal performance and longevity of your coffee machine.

5.1. Daily Cleaning

• Water Tank: Empty and rinse the water tank daily. Refill with fresh water.
• Drip Tray: Empty and clean the drip tray and grid after each use or when the indicator shows it's full.
• Capsule/Ground Coffee Holders: Rinse the used capsule adapters or ground coffee filter under running water after each use.
• Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

5.2. Descaling

Depending on water hardness and frequency of use, descaling should be performed every 2-3 months. Refer to the descaling solution manufacturer's instructions for specific steps. Generally, this involves:

1. Empty the water tank and fill it with descaling solution mixed with water according to the product instructions.
2. Place a large container under the coffee dispenser.
3. Run several brewing cycles until the water tank is empty.
4. Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water.
5. Run several cycles with fresh water to flush out any remaining descaling solution.

6. Troubleshooting

• Machine not turning on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Check the power switch.
• No coffee dispensed: Check if the water tank is filled. Ensure the capsule/filter is correctly inserted and the lever is closed. The machine might need descaling.
• Coffee is cold: Allow sufficient time for the machine to preheat. Pre-warm your cup.
• Leaking: Check if the water tank is properly seated. Ensure the drip tray is correctly positioned.
• Weak coffee: For ground coffee, ensure it is finely ground and tamped correctly. For capsules, ensure they are inserted properly.
