Setup and Installation

This section provides detailed instructions for installing your parking sensor system. Professional installation is recommended, but the system can be installed by individuals with basic automotive knowledge.

1. Sensor Placement

The four sensors should be installed on the rear bumper of your vehicle. Ensure they are evenly spaced and positioned within the recommended height range for optimal detection.

Use the provided drill bit to create holes in the bumper for the sensors. Carefully insert each sensor into its designated hole, ensuring a snug fit.

2. Main Control Box and Display Installation

The main control box should be mounted in a secure, dry location within the vehicle, typically in the trunk or near the rear lights. The LED display should be placed within the driver's view, such as on the dashboard or near the rearview mirror.

3. Wiring Connections

Connect the sensors to the main control box using the provided cables. Each sensor port on the control box is labeled (A, B, C, D) and corresponds to a specific sensor. Connect the LED display to the monitor port on the control box.

The power cable needs to be connected to your vehicle's reverse light circuit. This ensures the system activates automatically when you engage reverse gear.

Operating Instructions

Once installed, the parking sensor system operates automatically when the vehicle is in reverse gear. The LED display provides visual and audible alerts to indicate the distance to obstacles.

Distance Indication

The LED display shows the distance to the nearest obstacle in meters. As you approach an obstacle, the display will change color and the audible alert will increase in frequency and intensity.

  • Blue Light (1.5 - 0.6 meters): Indicates an obstacle is detected at a safe distance.
  • Yellow Light (0.6 - 0.4 meters): Indicates the obstacle is closer, requiring more caution.
  • Red Light (< 0.3 meters): Indicates the obstacle is very close, requiring immediate stop. The alarm will be continuous.

Volume Adjustment

The LED display features manual controls to adjust the volume of the audible alerts. You can select from three levels:

  • L0 (Mute): No audible alert.
  • L1 (Standard Sound): Default audible alert level.
  • L2 (Amplified Alarm): Louder audible alert, suitable for noisy environments.

Maintenance

The CUQI Parking Sensor System is designed for durability and requires minimal maintenance. To ensure optimal performance:

  • Keep the sensors clean from dirt, snow, or ice. A soft, damp cloth can be used for cleaning.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials on the sensors or display.
  • The system is IP68 waterproof, resistant to high temperatures, and suitable for all weather conditions, including rain and darkness.
  • Regularly check all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from damage.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your CUQI Parking Sensor System, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
System does not activate when reversing.Incorrect power connection; loose wiring; faulty reverse light.Check power cable connections to the reverse light. Ensure wires are securely connected. Verify reverse light functionality.
Inaccurate distance readings or false alarms.Sensors are dirty or obstructed; incorrect sensor installation angle; electromagnetic interference.Clean sensors thoroughly. Ensure sensors are installed flush with the bumper and facing straight back. Avoid installing near strong electromagnetic sources.
No sound from the display.Volume set to Mute (L0); faulty display unit.Check the volume setting on the LED display and adjust to L1 or L2. If still no sound, contact support.
Display shows "0.0" constantly or flashes erratically.Sensor malfunction; loose sensor connection.Check all sensor connections to the main control box. Inspect sensors for visible damage.
