4.3 Attaching the Battery

  • Align the charged battery with the battery port on the tool's handle.
  • Slide the battery into place until it clicks, indicating a secure connection.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Preparing the Pipe and Fitting

  1. Cut the pipe to the desired length, ensuring a clean, square cut.
  2. Deburr the inside and outside edges of the pipe.
  3. Clean the pipe and fitting surfaces to remove any dirt, grease, or debris.
  4. Insert the pipe fully into the fitting. Ensure the pipe is seated against the stop inside the fitting.

5.2 Performing a Press Connection

  1. Open the tool's jaw and position it around the fitting, ensuring the dies are centered over the fitting's crimp ring.
  2. Close the jaw securely around the fitting.
  3. Important: Locate the pressure release knob (often a rotary knob or lever) on the tool. Turn this knob to the "engage" or "pressure build" position. This allows the hydraulic pressure to build during the crimping process.
  4. Press and hold the trigger to initiate the pressing cycle. The tool will apply pressure, crimping the fitting.
  5. Continue holding the trigger until the tool completes its cycle and the dies fully close around the fitting. The tool may make a high pinging noise as it reaches full pressure; this is normal.
  6. Once the crimp is complete, release the trigger.
  7. Important: Turn the pressure release knob to the "release" position to relieve the hydraulic pressure. This will allow the dies to retract and the jaw to open.
  8. Remove the tool from the crimped fitting.
  9. Inspect the crimped connection to ensure it is uniform and secure.

6.2 Lubrication

  • Periodically apply a small amount of hydraulic oil or a suitable lubricant to the moving parts of the jaw and the hydraulic piston. Consult the manufacturer for specific lubrication points if not clearly indicated.
  • This helps maintain smooth operation and prevents wear.
