Setup

1. Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the spot welder. Connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the device's Type-C port (2) and a suitable USB power adapter (not included). The 11000mAh battery typically takes about 3.5 hours to fully charge. The LCD screen will indicate the charging status.

2. Connecting Welding Pens

Insert the plugs of the welding pens firmly into the welding pen ports (5) on the top of the device. Ensure a secure connection to prevent poor conductivity during welding.

3. Power On/Off

To power on the device, press and hold the ON/OFF button (3) for a few seconds until the LCD screen illuminates. To power off, press and hold the same button until the screen turns off.

Operating Instructions

1. Understanding the LCD Display

The 1.5-inch LCD screen (4) provides real-time information:

  • TEMP: Current device temperature.
  • Select Gear: The currently selected welding power level (1.0 to 9.9).
  • Trigger Time: The delay before welding initiates after contact.
  • Cont Welding: Indicates if continuous welding is enabled and the number of continuous welds (e.g., 1Times, 2Times).
  • Battery Level: Graphical representation of remaining battery charge.

2. Adjusting Welding Gears (Power Levels)

The device offers 99 adjustable welding gears (power levels) to suit various materials and thicknesses. Use the Adjust Buttons (+) (6) and (-) (7) to navigate and change the 'Select Gear' setting on the LCD.

  • Gears 1.0 - 3.9: Suitable for welding mobile phone batteries and very thin materials.
  • Gears 4.0 - 7.0: Recommended for materials with a thickness of 0.1 mm to 0.15 mm.
  • Gears 7.1 - 9.9: For thicker materials ranging from 0.15 mm to 0.25 mm.

Always perform test welds on scrap material to determine the optimal gear setting for your specific application.

3. Continuous Welding Function

The continuous welding function allows for multiple welds in quick succession without lifting the welding pens. If enabled, and the pen is not released after the first weld, the device will automatically trigger the set number of consecutive welds. This feature enhances weld strength and is particularly useful for thicker materials or applications requiring stronger bonds.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your spot welder:

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the welding tips and the device body with a dry, soft cloth. Ensure no metal dust or debris accumulates around the welding pens or ports.
  • Tip Condition: Inspect welding tips for wear or oxidation. Use the provided matte paper (sandpaper) to gently clean and sharpen the tips if necessary to ensure good conductivity.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, moisture, and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: For long-term storage, charge the battery to approximately 50-70% capacity. Avoid fully discharging the battery for extended periods.
  • Cable Inspection: Periodically check the Type-C charging cable and welding pens for any signs of damage. Replace if worn or frayed.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your AWithZ U2P Spot Welder, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Device does not power on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the Type-C cable and charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on again.
  • Weak or inconsistent welds:
    • Check the welding gear setting. Increase the gear level if the material is thicker.
    • Ensure welding tips are clean and sharp. Use sandpaper to remove oxidation.
    • Verify that the welding pens are securely connected to the device.
    • Apply firm and even pressure to both welding tips on the material.
  • Device overheats: If the temperature displayed on the LCD is high, allow the device to cool down before continuing operation. Avoid prolonged continuous use at maximum power settings.
  • LCD screen is blank or unresponsive: Try restarting the device by holding the ON/OFF button. If the issue persists, ensure the battery is charged.
  • Power Bank function not working: Ensure the device is powered on and the external device is properly connected to the USB output port. Check the external device's charging cable.

If these steps do not resolve your issue, please contact AWithZ customer support for further assistance.
