Setup Instructions

Connect the Adapter: Plug the integrated USB-C cable of the Satechi Multiport Adapter into an available USB-C port on your host device (e.g., MacBook, iPad, Windows laptop).
Power Connection (Optional): For charging your host device, connect a USB-C power adapter (up to 100W) to the USB-C Power Delivery port on the Satechi adapter. The adapter will deliver up to 80W to your host device.
Driver Installation: The adapter is plug-and-play for most compatible operating systems (macOS, Windows, Chrome OS, iOS/iPadOS, Android OS) and typically does not require additional drivers.

Operating Instructions

1. HDMI Video Output

Connect an HDMI 2.0 or higher cable from your external monitor to the HDMI port on the Satechi adapter.
Ensure your monitor is set to the correct input source.
Adjust display settings (resolution, mirroring/extending) through your device's operating system settings.

2. USB-A Data Transfer

Plug your USB-A devices (e.g., flash drives, external hard drives, keyboards, mice) into the two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports.
These ports support data transfer speeds up to 10Gbps.

3. Ethernet Connection

Connect an Ethernet cable from your router or network switch to the Gigabit Ethernet port on the adapter.
The port features a pop-up design for compact storage when not in use.
Ensure your device's network settings are configured for a wired connection.

4. SD/MicroSD Card Readers

Insert your SD or MicroSD card into the corresponding slot.
The card readers support UHS-I speeds up to 104 MB/s for quick access to photos and files.

Maintenance

Keep the adapter clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
Avoid exposing the adapter to extreme temperatures or humidity.

Troubleshooting

Issue	Possible Solution
No display on external monitor.	Ensure the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the adapter and the monitor. Verify the monitor's input source is correctly selected. Check your device's display settings to ensure the external display is detected and configured (e.g., extended or mirrored). For Windows PCs, confirm your USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode.
USB devices not recognized.	Ensure USB devices are fully inserted into the USB-A ports. Try connecting the USB device directly to your host device to confirm functionality. Restart your host device.
Slow charging or no charging.	Ensure your USB-C power adapter is connected to the adapter's PD port and is capable of delivering sufficient wattage (up to 100W input for 80W output). Verify the power adapter and cable are functioning correctly.
Ethernet connection issues.	Check that the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the adapter and your network source. Ensure your network settings on your device are configured for a wired connection. Try a different Ethernet cable.
Adapter feels warm during use.	It is normal for the adapter to become warm during operation, especially under heavy load (e.g., charging, 4K video, and multiple data transfers). The operating temperature range is 86-122°F (30-50°C). Ensure adequate ventilation around the adapter.
