Setup and Installation
This section provides general guidelines for installing the SHAD 4P System. For detailed, model-specific instructions, please refer to the graphical installation guide provided with your product or available on the official SHAD website.
- Preparation: Ensure the motorcycle is on a stable surface (e.g., a center stand or paddock stand). Turn off the engine and allow any hot components to cool down. Gather all tools required (typically wrenches, Allen keys, and a torque wrench).
- Remove Existing Components: Depending on your motorcycle model, it may be necessary to remove certain existing components such as passenger grab handles, exhaust heat shields, or existing luggage racks to access the mounting points.
- Identify Mounting Points: Locate the designated mounting points on the motorcycle frame, typically near the rear passenger footpegs and under the rear seat/fender.
- Attach Main Brackets: Secure the main brackets of the 4P System to the motorcycle frame using the provided screws and hardware. Do not fully tighten the screws at this stage.
- Install Crossbar: Connect the crossbar between the left and right 4P System frames. This crossbar provides additional rigidity and stability.
- Align and Tighten: Once all components are loosely fitted, ensure proper alignment of the frames. Then, progressively tighten all screws to the torque specifications provided in the detailed installation guide. Over-tightening can damage components, while under-tightening can lead to instability.
- Final Check: Verify that all components are securely fastened and that there is no interference with moving parts of the motorcycle (e.g., suspension, chain, wheels).

Operating Instructions
The SHAD 4P System is designed for easy attachment and detachment of compatible SHAD side cases and soft bags.
Attaching Side Cases/Bags:
- Align: Position the side case or bag onto the 4P System frame, ensuring the mounting points on the case align with the system's pins.
- Engage: Gently push the case onto the frame until it clicks into place. For hard cases, ensure the locking mechanism engages securely. For soft bags, secure all straps and buckles to the frame.
- Verify: Always double-check that the case or bag is firmly attached and cannot be easily removed without disengaging the locking mechanism.
Detaching Side Cases/Bags:
- Unlock: For hard cases, use the key to unlock the case from the 4P System. For soft bags, unfasten all straps and buckles.
- Release: Press the release button or lever (if applicable) and carefully lift the case or bag off the frame.

Maintenance
