Introduction
The DIGITEN DTC101 is a high-precision digital temperature controller designed for a wide range of applications requiring accurate temperature management. This device offers a broad temperature control range, intuitive operation, and robust safety mechanisms for reliable performance in various environments, from industrial settings to home projects.
Safety Information
- Always ensure the device is properly grounded before use.
- Do not expose the unit or its temperature sensor to water or high humidity beyond its specified operational limits.
- Disconnect power before performing any cleaning or maintenance on the device.
- The device includes a temperature abnormal detection alarm and a compressor protection mechanism. If the temperature exceeds the set range, power to the connected device will be immediately cut off for safety.
- Ensure the total power consumption of connected heating or cooling devices does not exceed the controller's maximum rated current of 10A.
Product Overview
The DIGITEN DTC101 features a clear LED display and three control buttons for easy operation. It includes a temperature sensor probe and power cords for connecting heating and cooling devices.

Setup
- Connect the Sensor: Plug the temperature sensor probe securely into the designated port on the controller.
- Power On: Plug the main power cord of the DTC101 controller into a standard 110V AC power outlet. The LED display will illuminate.
- Connect Devices: Plug your heating device (e.g., heater, heat lamp) into the 'Heating' outlet and your cooling device (e.g., fan, chiller) into the 'Cooling' outlet on the controller. Ensure all connections are firm.
- Mounting (Optional): Utilize the integrated hook design on the top of the controller to hang it on a wall or hook for convenient placement and tidy cable management.

Operating Instructions
The DTC101 offers intuitive 3-button operation. The LED display shows the current temperature (PV), the desired run temperature (RV), and the desired stop temperature (SV).
Setting Temperature Parameters (RV and SV)
- Press the 'SET' button once. The 'RV' (Run Temperature) value will start flashing.
- Use the 'Up' (▲) or 'Down' (▼) arrow buttons to adjust the desired run temperature.
- Press the 'SET' button again. The 'SV' (Stop Temperature) value will start flashing.
- Use the 'Up' (▲) or 'Down' (▼) arrow buttons to adjust the desired stop temperature.
- Press the 'SET' button a third time to confirm and save your settings. The display will return to showing the current temperature.
Automatic Heating/Cooling Mode Selection
The controller automatically determines whether to operate in heating or cooling mode based on the relationship between your set Run Temperature (RV) and Stop Temperature (SV):
- If RV < SV: The unit will operate in HEATING mode. The heating device will activate when the current temperature drops below RV and deactivate when it reaches SV.
- If RV > SV: The unit will operate in COOLING mode. The cooling device will activate when the current temperature rises above RV and deactivate when it reaches SV.
Fahrenheit/Celsius Unit Switching
To switch between Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉):
- With the device powered on, press and hold the 'Up' (▲) button for approximately 3 seconds. The display unit will change.
- The device will automatically save your preferred unit.

Advanced Settings and Alarms
The DTC101 includes smart temperature alarm mechanisms for enhanced safety and control.
High Temperature Alarm (AH)
This setting defines the maximum allowable temperature. If the current temperature exceeds this value, an audible alarm will sound, and power to the connected device will be cut off to prevent overheating.
Low Temperature Alarm (AL)
This setting defines the minimum allowable temperature. If the current temperature falls below this value, an audible alarm will sound, and power to the connected device will be cut off to prevent under-cooling or freezing.
Adjusting Alarm Settings
To adjust AH or AL values, refer to the detailed programming instructions in the full manual (if available) or experiment with the SET button in combination with arrow keys. To effectively disable an alarm, set AH to a very high temperature (e.g., 120℃/248℉) and AL to a very low temperature (e.g., -40℃/-40℉).
Applications
The DIGITEN DTC101 is a versatile temperature control solution suitable for a wide range of scenarios:
- Reptile Greenhouses & Terrariums: Maintain precise temperatures for exotic pets.
- Mushroom Cultivation: Control environmental conditions for optimal growth.
- Fermentation & Homebrewing: Ensure stable temperatures for yeast activity.
- Seed Cultivation: Regulate temperature for germination and plant growth.
- Wine Cellars: Keep wine at ideal storage temperatures.
- Industrial Greenhouses: Manage climate for agricultural production.

Troubleshooting
- Display shows 'Err' or device is unresponsive: Check all cable connections, especially the temperature sensor probe. Ensure the power supply is stable. Disconnect and reconnect power to reset the device.
- Alarm sounds unexpectedly: Verify your High Temperature Alarm (AH) and Low Temperature Alarm (AL) settings. Adjust them to appropriate values for your application. If alarms are not desired, set AH to the maximum possible temperature and AL to the minimum possible temperature.
- Device not heating/cooling: Confirm that the heating/cooling device is properly plugged into the correct outlet on the controller and is functional independently. Check that the RV and SV settings are configured correctly for the desired heating or cooling mode.
- Inaccurate temperature readings: Ensure the sensor probe is correctly positioned and not damaged. Avoid placing the sensor directly in contact with heating elements or in direct sunlight, which can cause false readings.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the controller's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Sensor Care: Keep the temperature sensor probe clean and free from debris. Avoid bending or damaging the probe cable.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect all cables and connections for any signs of wear or damage. Replace damaged components immediately.
