6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Pre-Pressing

Before applying your design, it is crucial to pre-press your garment. Place the garment on the ironing board and press for 5-10 seconds. This step removes wrinkles and any moisture from the fabric, ensuring a smooth and durable transfer.

6.2. Setting Temperature and Time

  1. Power On: Press the power button on the control pad to turn on the machine.
  2. Set Temperature: Rotate the 'Temp' knob on the control pad to adjust the desired temperature (range: 104-410°F / 40-210°C). Press the 'Temp' button once to confirm the setting. The machine will begin to heat up.
  3. Set Time: Rotate the 'Timer' knob to adjust the desired pressing time (range: 1-999 seconds).

6.3. Adjusting Pressure

The heat press features an adjustable pressure knob located on the top bar. Turn the knob clockwise to increase pressure and counter-clockwise to decrease it. Adjust the pressure according to the thickness of your material and the requirements of your heat transfer vinyl or sublimation paper for optimal results.

6.4. Heat Transfer Process

  1. Prepare Material: Place your pre-pressed garment or material on the ironing board.
  2. Position Design: Carefully position your heat transfer design onto the material. Use heat-resistant tape to secure it if needed.
  3. Swing Heat Plate: Rotate the heat plate away from the ironing board using the handle to provide clear access.
  4. Press: Once the desired temperature is reached, swing the heat plate back over the material. Press the handle down firmly until it locks into place.
  5. Start Timer: Hold the 'Timer' button on the control pad for 2 seconds to start the countdown.
  6. Release: When the timer beeps, lift the handle and swing the heat plate away from the material.
  7. Peel: Refer to your specific heat transfer material's instructions for whether to perform a hot peel (peel immediately while hot) or a cold peel (allow to cool before peeling).

7. Maintenance

7.1. Cleaning

  • Always ensure the machine is unplugged and completely cool before cleaning.
  • Wipe the heat plate with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the non-stick coating.
  • Clean the exterior of the machine with a dry, soft cloth.

7.2. Storage

  • Store the heat press in a dry, safe place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Ensure the heat plate is fully cooled before covering or storing.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1. Common Issues

  • Uneven Heat Distribution: Ensure the heat plate is clean and free of debris. Verify that the temperature settings are correct and allow sufficient time for the machine to reach and stabilize at the set temperature.
  • Transfer Not Adhering: Check your temperature, time, and pressure settings against your specific heat transfer material supplier's recommendations. Ensure the garment was pre-pressed to remove moisture.
  • Machine Not Heating: Check the power connection and ensure the control pad is properly connected. If the screen displays "E1" or "E2", cut the power immediately and restart. If issues persist, contact customer service.
  • Pressure Knob Issues: Ensure the pressure knob is securely attached and not stripped. Adjust pressure carefully and avoid overtightening.
  • Auto Shut-off: The machine automatically turns off after 15 minutes of inactivity as a safety feature. Simply power it back on to resume operation.
