Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to set up your portable washing machine:

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the washing machine from its packaging. Check for any visible damage. The manufacturer tests the machine before shipping, so a small amount of residual water inside is normal.
  2. Placement: Place the machine on a flat, stable surface. Ensure there is enough space around it for ventilation and operation. The compact design allows it to fit in small spaces like closets, campers, or studio apartments.
  3. Water Supply Connection:
    • Connect the inlet hose to a water source (e.g., a faucet). An included faucet adapter may be necessary depending on your faucet type.
    • Insert the other end of the inlet hose into the water inlet port(s) on the washing machine. There are two water inlets, one for the wash tub and one for the spin tub.
  4. Drainage Setup:
    • Position the extended drain hose (51.6 inches long) to drain into a sink, bathtub, or other suitable drainage area. The built-in drain pump allows for convenient drainage without requiring a floor drain.
    • Ensure the drain hose is securely placed to prevent accidental spills during drainage.
  5. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded 120V electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet meets the machine's power requirements.

Washing Cycle:

  1. Load Laundry: Open the lid of the washing tub and place your clothes inside. Do not exceed the 18 lbs washing capacity. For best results, avoid overloading.
  2. Add Water: Fill the washing tub with water to the desired level. You can use the water inlet or manually add water with a bucket. Ensure clothes are fully submerged.
  3. Add Detergent: Add an appropriate amount of laundry detergent. For portable machines, less detergent is often more effective to prevent excessive suds.
  4. Set Wash Mode: Turn the "Wash Selector" knob to either "Gentle" for delicate items or "Normal" for regular loads.
  5. Set Wash Timer: Turn the "Wash Timer" knob to your desired washing duration (0-15 minutes). The machine will start washing automatically.
  6. Rinsing: After the wash cycle completes, drain the dirty water by setting the "Wash Selector" to "Drain". Refill the tub with clean water for rinsing. You may agitate the clothes manually or run a short wash cycle without detergent for a thorough rinse. Repeat if necessary.

Spinning Cycle:

  1. Transfer Clothes: Carefully transfer the washed and rinsed clothes from the washing tub to the spin tub. Distribute clothes evenly inside the spin tub to prevent imbalance and excessive vibration. Do not exceed the 10 lbs spinning capacity.
  2. Secure Spin Lid: Place the spin lid securely over the clothes in the spin tub. This helps balance the load and reduces noise.
  3. Set Spin Timer: Turn the "Spin Timer" knob to your desired spinning duration (0-5 minutes). Clothes will be spun to remove excess water. For best results, spin for 1-2 minutes for most items.
  4. Remove Clothes: Once the spin cycle is complete, remove your clothes. They will be damp but significantly drier, reducing drying time.

Care and Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance will extend the life of your Auertech Portable Washing Machine.

  • Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the plastic body.
  • Cleaning the Interior: Periodically clean the inside of the wash and spin tubs. You can run a short cycle with just water and a small amount of white vinegar to remove any residue or odors.
  • Lint Filter Maintenance: The removable side lint filter should be cleaned regularly. After a few washes, remove the filter, rinse it under running water to remove trapped lint and debris, and then reinsert it.
  • Drain Hose: Ensure the drain hose is clear of blockages. If storing the machine, especially in freezing temperatures, ensure all water is completely drained from the tubs and hoses to prevent damage.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the machine in a dry, cool place. Ensure it is unplugged and all water has been drained.
