3.1. Components and Controls

The device features a responsive touchscreen for selecting various modes and settings, along with a prominent emergency stop button for safety.

4. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the EM385 unit and all accessories from the packaging.
  2. Inspect: Check the device and cables for any signs of damage. Do not use if damaged.
  3. Placement: Place the unit on a stable, flat, and dry surface, ensuring adequate ventilation around the cooling fans.
  4. Power Connection: Connect the AC power cord to the device's power input interface and then to a suitable 110V power outlet.
  5. Output Cable Connection: Connect the red and black output cables to the corresponding power output interfaces on the front of the unit.
  6. Power On: Flip the power switch to the 'ON' position. The touchscreen will illuminate, and the device will boot up.

5.1. Programming Power Mode

This mode is specifically designed to provide a stable voltage under varying loads during major vehicle ECU reprogramming and diagnostic work. It supplies current up to 150A with a voltage range of 9-16V, ensuring stable data transmission.

In Programming Power Mode, you can precisely set the output voltage within the 9-16V range to meet the specific requirements of vehicle ECU programming, ensuring a consistent power supply.

5.2. Fast Charging Mode

The Fast Charging mode supports both lead-acid and lithium batteries with a multi-stage intelligent charging process. It uses pulse charging initially, switches to high-power charging, and then to trickle charging to prevent overcharging.

5.3. Adjustable Power Mode

5.4. Battery Restoration Mode

This battery maintainer mode can repair batteries that have been discharged for a long time or have suffered severe power loss, aiming to restore them to a usable condition.

The battery restoration function helps to recover batteries that are in an insufficient voltage state, extending their lifespan.

5.5. Vehicle Display Mode

The display mode outputs an uninterruptible power supply and restarts automatically in case of power failure. This provides stable power support during vehicle display in showrooms and during battery replacement procedures.

This mode ensures continuous power to the vehicle's electrical systems, ideal for maintaining vehicle functions during demonstrations or when the main battery is disconnected.

5.6. Forced Start Mode (Jump Starter)

The EM385 can provide a 400A starting current to easily jump-start car engines that are under 3.0T displacement. When the current exceeds 400A, the protection is triggered for 500 milliseconds, interrupting the output during the protection period.

Connect the power supply to the vehicle's battery terminals and then start the engine. The device provides the necessary cranking current.
