6. Drainage Options

Your Cagstul CT01 Dehumidifier offers two convenient ways to remove collected water:

6.1. Manual Drainage (Water Tank)

The unit collects water in its internal 0.53-gallon water tank. When the tank is full, the unit will automatically shut off and an indicator light will illuminate. To empty the tank:

  1. Gently pull out the water tank from the front of the unit.
  2. Carefully carry the tank to a sink or drain.
  3. Pour out the collected water.
  4. Slide the empty water tank back into the unit until it clicks into place. The unit will resume operation.

6.2. Continuous Drainage (Drain Hose)

For continuous operation without needing to empty the tank, you can use the included 3.4ft drain hose. This is ideal for basements or areas with a floor drain.

  1. Locate the drain outlet at the back of the unit (refer to Figure 6.1).
  2. Remove the rubber stopper from the drain outlet.
  3. Connect one end of the provided drain hose to the drain outlet, ensuring a secure fit.
  4. Route the other end of the hose to a suitable floor drain or large container, ensuring the hose is sloped downwards to allow gravity drainage. Avoid kinks or blockages in the hose.
  5. Once connected, water will continuously drain from the unit, bypassing the internal tank.

7. Maintenance & Care

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your dehumidifier.

7.1. Cleaning the Air Filter

The air filter should be cleaned every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage and air quality. A dirty filter can reduce efficiency and cause the unit to work harder.

  1. Turn off the dehumidifier and unplug it from the power outlet.
  2. Locate the air filter at the back of the unit.
  3. Gently pull out the filter.
  4. Wash the filter with warm, soapy water or vacuum it clean.
  5. Rinse thoroughly and allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting. Do not use a dishwasher.
  6. Slide the dry filter back into its slot.

7.2. Cleaning the Water Tank

Clean the water tank periodically to prevent mold and mildew growth.

  1. Remove the water tank from the unit.
  2. Wash the tank with warm water and a mild detergent.
  3. Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry before placing it back into the unit.

7.3. Storing the Unit

If the unit will not be used for an extended period:

  1. Turn off the unit and unplug it.
  2. Empty the water tank and ensure it is completely dry.
  3. Clean the air filter.
  4. Store the unit in an upright position in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
