5. Operating the Router
Accessing the Web Management Interface:
To configure advanced settings, access the router's web management interface:
- Connect your device to the router via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
- Open a web browser and type
http://mwlogin.netorhttp://192.168.1.1into the address bar. - Enter the login password you created during the initial setup. If you haven't set one, it might be 'admin' or blank. Refer to the Quick Installation Guide for default credentials.
LAN/WAN Mode:
The WAN/LAN port offers flexibility. By default, the router prioritizes the 4G LTE connection. If you wish to use a wired internet connection (e.g., from a fiber modem), connect the Ethernet cable from your modem to the WAN/LAN port. The router will automatically switch to wired internet if available and configured correctly.
Wi-Fi Network Management:
Through the web management interface, you can:
- Change your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
- Enable/disable guest network.
- Set up parental controls.
- Monitor connected devices.
6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your router.
- Placement: Place the router in a central location, away from obstructions, large metal objects, and devices that emit strong electromagnetic interference (e.g., microwaves, cordless phones).
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the router. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Firmware Updates: Regularly check for firmware updates via the web management interface. Updates can improve performance, add new features, and fix security vulnerabilities.
- Ventilation: Ensure the router's ventilation holes are not blocked to prevent overheating.
