2. Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • Always disconnect power at the circuit breaker before installing or servicing the transformer.
  • This transformer is designed for outdoor use and must be mounted vertically at least 1 foot (30 cm) above ground level.
  • Do not immerse the transformer in water.
  • Ensure all wiring connections are secure and properly insulated to prevent short circuits.
  • Do not overload the transformer. The total wattage of connected lights should not exceed 80% of the transformer's capacity (e.g., 160W for a 200W transformer).
  • Use only low voltage landscape lighting fixtures with this transformer.
  • Ensure the power cord is not damaged or pinched during installation.
  • Only connect to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.

3. Package Contents

  • 1 x DEWENWILS 200W Low Voltage Landscape Transformer
  • 1 x User Manual

  • Dual Independent Zones: Features two programmable zones, each supporting up to 200W (maximum 200W combined total). Each zone has touch control buttons for ON/OFF and WiFi connection.
  • 120V AC to 12/15V AC Conversion: Safely converts standard 120V AC input to 12V or 15V AC output, suitable for various 12V LED outdoor lights.
  • Smart Scheduling Timer: Set customized on/off schedules directly in the app or enable dusk-to-dawn automation using the astronomical function, which adjusts to local sunrise and sunset times.
  • Weatherproof Design: Fully enclosed, rain-tight housing with silicone-sealed electronics ensures protection against dust, moisture, and harsh weather conditions.

5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Mounting the Transformer

Mount the transformer vertically on a wall or post using appropriate hardware (not included). Ensure it is at least 1 foot (30 cm) above ground level and in a location that allows for proper ventilation and access to the power outlet.

5.2 Wiring the Landscape Lights

  1. Ensure the transformer is unplugged from the power outlet.
  2. Connect your low voltage landscape lighting wires to the terminal blocks on the transformer. The transformer has two independent zones (Zone 1 and Zone 2).
  3. Each zone has common (COM), 12V, and 15V terminals. Connect your light wires to the desired voltage terminals. For longer wire runs or more lights, 15V may be preferred to compensate for voltage drop.
  4. Tighten the terminal screws securely to ensure good electrical contact.
  5. Ensure the total wattage of lights connected to each zone, and the combined total, does not exceed the transformer's capacity (200W total, with each zone supporting up to 200W individually, but the combined total must not exceed 200W).

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Lights are not turning on.No power to transformer; loose wiring; overloaded circuit; faulty lights.Check power outlet and circuit breaker. Ensure all wire connections are secure. Verify total wattage does not exceed 80% capacity. Test individual lights.
Wi-Fi connection fails.Incorrect Wi-Fi band (5GHz); weak signal; incorrect password; pairing mode not active.Ensure your router is set to 2.4GHz. Move transformer closer to router. Re-enter Wi-Fi password carefully. Press and hold ZONE button to activate pairing mode (blinking Wi-Fi indicator).
Lights flicker or are dim.Voltage drop due to long wire runs or undersized wire; overloaded circuit.Consider using the 15V output terminal. Use thicker gauge wire for longer runs. Reduce the number of lights or distribute them across zones.
App control is unresponsive. No internet connection; app glitch; transformer offline.Check your home internet connection. Restart the Smart Life app. Unplug and replug the transformer to restart it.
