1. Introduction

The JBL Clip 5 is a portable Bluetooth speaker designed for on-the-go audio. It features JBL Pro Sound, IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating, and an integrated carabiner for easy portability. This manual provides instructions for setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance of your speaker.

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Speaker

Before first use, fully charge the JBL Clip 5 speaker. Connect the supplied USB-C charging cable to the speaker's USB-C port and the other end to a compatible USB power adapter (not included). The charging indicator light will show the charging status.

3.3 Bluetooth Pairing

To connect your device via Bluetooth:

  1. Turn on the JBL Clip 5 speaker.
  2. Press the Bluetooth button on the speaker. The Bluetooth indicator will flash, indicating it's in pairing mode.
  3. On your device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), go to Bluetooth settings and select "JBL Clip 5" from the list of available devices.
  4. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator will glow solid, and you will hear a confirmation sound.

4. Operating the Speaker

4.1 Basic Controls

4.2 Auracast Linking

The JBL Clip 5 supports Auracast, allowing you to link multiple JBL Auracast-enabled speakers for a synchronized audio experience. Refer to the JBL Portable App for detailed instructions on setting up Auracast.

4.3 Playtime Boost

Activate the Playtime Boost feature via the JBL Portable App to extend battery life by up to 3 additional hours, providing a total of up to 15 hours of playback.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To clean the speaker, use a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Ensure the USB-C port cover is securely closed before cleaning if water is involved.

5.2 Waterproof and Dustproof Care (IP67)

The JBL Clip 5 is IP67 rated, meaning it is waterproof and dustproof. This allows for immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. However, ensure the USB-C port cover is fully sealed before exposing the speaker to water or dust. After exposure to water, dry the speaker thoroughly before charging.

5.3 Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the speaker frequently. Store the speaker in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods. Charge the speaker periodically if stored for a long time to maintain battery health.
