5. Setup and Installation
The AIRO Portable Air Conditioner is designed for easy DIY installation. Follow these steps to set up your unit:
5.1 Positioning the Unit
Place the unit on a flat, stable surface near a window and a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure there is at least 12 inches (30 cm) of clearance around the unit for proper airflow.

5.2 Window Kit Installation
The included window seal plate kit is compatible with most double/single-hung and sliding windows.
- Assemble the window seal plate kit according to the instructions provided with the kit, adjusting its length to fit your window opening.
- Open the window and place the assembled window seal plate into the window opening. Secure it in place.
- Attach one end of the exhaust hose to the unit's exhaust outlet and the other end to the opening in the window seal plate. Ensure a secure connection to prevent air leakage.

For optimal performance, ensure the exhaust hose is as short and straight as possible to minimize heat loss.
6. Operating Instructions
Your AIRO Portable Air Conditioner can be operated using the control panel on the unit or the included remote control.
6.1 Control Panel Overview

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Air Filter
The unit is equipped with an easy-to-clean dual-layer filter. Clean the filter every two weeks or more frequently if the unit is used in a dusty environment.
- Turn off and unplug the air conditioner.
- Locate the filter access panel (usually at the back or side of the unit).
- Remove the filter.
- Wash the filter under running water (warm, soapy water if heavily soiled).
- Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinstalling. Do not expose to direct sunlight or excessive heat.
- Reinstall the dry filter and close the access panel.

7.2 Draining Condensed Water
In Dehumidifier mode or high humidity conditions, the unit will collect condensed water. The unit has an internal reservoir, but for continuous operation or when the reservoir is full, manual draining may be required.
- Turn off and unplug the air conditioner.
- Place a shallow pan or container (e.g., a drain pan) under the drain outlet at the bottom rear of the unit.
- Remove the drain plug. Water will begin to flow out.
- Once all water has drained, replace the drain plug securely.
- For continuous drainage, attach the provided drain hose to the drain outlet and route it to a suitable drain or container. Ensure the hose is sloped downwards to allow gravity drainage.
7.3 Cleaning the Unit Exterior
Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasives, or solvents, as these may damage the surface.
