3. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your FAIMEE 4K Dash Cam. For a visual guide, please refer to the installation video below.

  1. Prepare the Windshield: Clean the area on your windshield where the dash cam will be mounted. Ensure it is free of dust and grease for optimal adhesive contact.
  2. Apply Electrostatic Film: Apply the provided electrostatic film to the cleaned area on the windshield. This protects your windshield and allows for easier removal of the dash cam mount.
  3. Attach Main Unit: Peel off the adhesive backing from the main dash cam mount and firmly press it onto the electrostatic film on your windshield. Hold for a few seconds to ensure secure attachment.
  4. Connect Power Cable: Connect the power cable to the main dash cam unit. Route the cable along the top edge of the windshield, down the A-pillar, and along the dashboard to the car's cigarette lighter socket. Use the included installation tool to tuck the cable neatly into the gaps of the trim.
  5. Connect Rear Camera: Connect the rear camera cable to the main unit. Route this cable along the headliner, down the side pillar, and along the rear window to the desired mounting position for the rear camera. Apply the rear camera to the rear window using its adhesive.
  6. Plug in Car Charger: Insert the car charger into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.
  7. Power On: Start your vehicle. The dash cam should power on automatically and begin recording.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Basic Operation

  • Power On/Off: The dash cam automatically powers on and off with your vehicle's ignition. You can manually power it on/off by pressing and holding the power button.
  • Recording: Once powered on, the dash cam automatically starts loop recording. A red indicator light typically signifies active recording.
  • Screen Display: The 3-inch IPS screen displays the live view from the front and/or rear cameras. You can switch between views or turn off the screen to avoid distraction while recording continues.

4.2. 4K+2K Dual Recording & Night Vision

The dash cam features dual lenses with f1.5 ultra-large aperture, capturing 4K resolution from the front and 2K from the rear. Enhanced WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) and sharper night vision technology ensure clear images in various lighting conditions, from bright daylight to low-light environments like tunnels or nighttime driving.

This allows for real-time video streaming, instant downloads of footage, and easy sharing to social media. The built-in GPS logs speed, route, and location data, which can be viewed through the app.

  • Connecting via WiFi:
    1. Download the "FAIMEE" app from the App Store or Google Play.
    2. Enable WiFi on your dash cam (refer to device settings).

4.4. Parking Monitor & Time-Lapse

The dash cam supports 24-hour parking monitoring. When your car is parked, the dash cam can automatically trigger a 15-second video recording and lock it if the G-sensor detects a sudden collision or vibration. It also supports time-lapse video recording at a low frame rate for continuous surveillance with low power consumption. Note: A hardwire kit (sold separately) is required for continuous 24-hour parking monitoring to prevent draining your car battery.

4.5. Loop Recording & Emergency Lock

The dash cam utilizes seamless loop recording, ensuring no lost frames or missed seconds. When the memory card is full, the oldest unlocked footage is automatically overwritten. The built-in G-sensor detects sudden collisions and automatically locks the current video segment, protecting it from being overwritten. A 64GB memory card is included, and the device supports up to 256GB for extended storage.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your FAIMEE Dash Cam, please follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Clean the Lenses: Regularly clean the front and rear camera lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear video quality. Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the lens.
  • Memory Card Care: Format the memory card regularly (e.g., once a month) through the dash cam's settings to prevent data corruption and ensure smooth recording. Use a high-quality, high-speed (Class 10 or U3 recommended) microSD card.
  • Temperature: Avoid exposing the dash cam to extreme temperatures for prolonged periods. While designed for automotive use, prolonged direct sunlight in a parked car can affect its lifespan.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the official FAIMEE website or app periodically for firmware updates. Keeping your dash cam's firmware updated can improve performance and add new features.
  • Cable Management: Ensure all cables are securely tucked away and not interfering with driving controls or airbags.
