  • Keep a firm grip on the chainsaw with both hands during operation.
  • Before performing any maintenance, adjustments, or storage, always remove the battery pack from the tool.

2. Chain Tension Adjustment

The chain tension should be checked before each use and after the first few cuts. Proper chain tension is crucial for safe and efficient operation.

  1. Ensure the battery is removed.
  2. Locate the chain tensioning knob on the side of the chainsaw.
  3. Use the on-board combination wrench to loosen the bar retaining nut slightly.
  4. Turn the tensioning knob clockwise to increase tension or counter-clockwise to decrease tension. The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled around by hand.
  5. Once the desired tension is achieved, tighten the bar retaining nut securely.

2. Making Cuts

  • Always begin a cut with the chain running at full speed.

  • Apply light pressure and allow the saw to cut through the wood. Do not force the saw.
  • For larger branches (up to 6 inches), make multiple shallow cuts if necessary to avoid pinching the bar or chain.
  • Be mindful of the branch's weight and direction of fall to prevent injury or damage.
