3. Setup and Assembly

The FUXTEC FX-AF152 tiller requires some assembly before its first use. Follow these steps carefully.

3.1. Handle Assembly

  1. Attach the lower handle bar to the main unit using the provided bolts and knobs. Ensure they are securely tightened.
  2. Connect the upper handle bar to the lower handle bar, aligning the holes and securing with the remaining bolts and knobs.
  3. Route the control cables along the handle and secure them with cable ties to prevent snagging.

3.2. Wheel Assembly

  1. Attach the transport wheels to the designated mounting points at the rear of the tiller.
  2. Secure the wheels with the provided pins or fasteners, ensuring they are firmly in place for stability during transport.

3.3. Fueling Instructions

The FX-AF152 uses a 2-stroke engine. It requires a specific mixture of gasoline and 2-stroke engine oil.

  • Fuel Mixture: Use unleaded gasoline (93# or higher) mixed with 2-stroke engine oil at a ratio of 25:1 (25 parts gasoline to 1 part oil).
  • Always mix the fuel in a separate, approved fuel container before pouring it into the tiller's fuel tank. Shake the mixture well.
  • Ensure the engine is off and cool before refueling. Avoid spilling fuel.

4. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to safely operate your FUXTEC FX-AF152 thermal tiller.

4.1. Starting the Engine

  1. Ensure the fuel tank is filled with the correct gasoline/oil mixture.
  2. Press the carburetor primer bulb 5-6 times until fuel is visible in both tubes.
  3. Close the choke lever (damper) for cold starts. For warm starts, the choke may not be necessary.
  4. Turn the flame failure switch (ON/OFF switch) to the 'ON' position.
  5. Pull the rope starter smoothly and firmly until the engine starts. If the engine does not start after 5 pulls, remove the spark plug, pull the rope starter 3-4 times, then reinsert the spark plug and try again.
  6. Once the engine starts, gradually open the choke lever (damper) as the engine warms up.

4.2. Tilling Techniques

The FX-AF152 is designed for precise soil cultivation.

  • Shallow Tilling (Mode A): For light weeding or surface soil preparation, allow the tiller to move forward with minimal downward pressure. This mode is effective for removing withered weeds and preparing the topsoil.
  • Deep Tilling (Mode B): For deeper soil penetration, apply gentle downward pressure on the handles. The tines will dig deeper into the soil, ideal for preparing seedbeds or breaking up compacted earth. Remove any large stones from the soil beforehand to prevent violent rebounds.
  • Work in overlapping passes to ensure even cultivation of the entire area.

4.3. Stopping the Engine

To stop the engine, release the throttle lever and move the flame failure switch to the 'OFF' position.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your FUXTEC FX-AF152 tiller.

  • Cleaning: After each use, clean the tines and housing to remove soil, debris, and plant residue. Use a brush or cloth. Do not use high-pressure water directly on the engine.
  • Air Filter: Regularly check and clean the air filter. A clogged air filter can reduce engine performance. Replace if damaged.
  • Spark Plug: Inspect the spark plug periodically. Clean or replace it if it is fouled or worn.
  • Fuel System: If storing the tiller for an extended period, drain the fuel tank or use a fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel degradation.
  • General Inspection: Check all bolts, nuts, and fasteners for tightness. Inspect cables and controls for wear or damage.
