4.4 N-Key Rollover (NKRO)

The keyboard features N-Key Rollover (NKRO) in both wireless and wired modes, ensuring that every keypress is registered accurately, even when multiple keys are pressed simultaneously.

4.5 Backlight Control

The keyboard is equipped with a white backlight. Use the designated function keys (usually Fn + light icon key) to adjust brightness or toggle backlight effects.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To clean the keyboard, disconnect it from all power sources. Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution. For keycaps, a keycap puller can be used to remove them for deeper cleaning. Avoid spraying liquids directly onto the keyboard.

5.2 Hot-Swappable Switches

The Keychron K8 Max features hot-swappable switches, allowing you to change switches without soldering. Use the provided switch puller to carefully remove and replace switches.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Keyboard Not Responding

  • Ensure the keyboard is charged.
  • Check the connection mode switch (2.4 GHz, Bluetooth, or USB-C).
  • For Bluetooth, ensure it is paired correctly and within range. Try re-pairing.
  • For 2.4 GHz, ensure the receiver is properly inserted and the keyboard is in 2.4 GHz mode.
  • Try connecting via USB-C cable to rule out wireless issues.

6.2 Connectivity Issues

  • Bluetooth: Remove the keyboard from your device's Bluetooth list and attempt to re-pair. Ensure no other devices are interfering.
  • 2.4 GHz: Try a different USB port for the receiver. Ensure the keyboard is not too far from the receiver.

6.3 Keys Not Working

  • If individual keys are not working, check if the switches are properly seated. Since the keyboard is hot-swappable, a switch might be loose.
  • Consider replacing the switch if it is faulty.
