The SASKATE rotary tool features 5 adjustable speed settings, ranging from 8000 to 30000 RPM.
- Speed Dial: Use the speed dial or selector switch on the tool body to choose the desired speed.
- Recommended Speeds:
- Low Speeds (8000-15000 RPM): Ideal for polishing, delicate carving, and working with softer materials like plastic.
- Medium Speeds (15000-25000 RPM): Suitable for general grinding, sanding, and cutting tasks on wood and some metals.
- High Speeds (25000-30000 RPM): Best for heavy-duty cutting, shaping, and engraving on harder materials like metal and ceramic.
- Always start with a lower speed and gradually increase it to find the optimal setting for your specific task and material.
3. General Usage Tips
- Light Pressure: Let the tool do the work. Applying excessive pressure can cause the tool to bog down, overheat, or damage the workpiece/accessory.
- Consistent Movement: Keep the tool moving to prevent burning or gouging the material.
- Test on Scrap Material: Before working on your final project, practice on a piece of scrap material to get a feel for the tool and accessory.
- Cooling: For prolonged use, especially with metal, allow the tool to cool periodically to prevent overheating.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your rotary tool.
- Cleaning: After each use, unplug the tool and use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris from the ventilation slots and around the chuck area. Do not use solvents or harsh chemicals.
- Accessory Storage: Store all accessories in the provided accessory storage box to keep them organized and protected.
- Cord Inspection: Periodically inspect the power cord for any signs of damage, cuts, or fraying. If damaged, have it repaired by a qualified technician.
- Carbon Brush Replacement: The tool uses carbon brushes which wear down over time. If the tool experiences reduced power, intermittent operation, or excessive sparking, the carbon brushes may need replacement. Refer to the included carbon brushes in your kit. To replace, locate the brush caps on the sides of the motor housing, unscrew them, remove the old brushes, and insert new ones. Securely fasten the caps.
