Setup
Battery Installation and Charging
Your EZTalk 70 walkie-talkies come with built-in rechargeable batteries. Ensure they are fully charged before first use.

Charging Instructions:
- Connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the charging port on the side of the walkie-talkie.
- Plug the other end of the cable into a compatible USB power adapter (not included).
- The battery indicator on the LCD screen will show charging status. A full charge provides approximately 29 hours of use.
Powering On/Off
To power on or off, long press the MENU button located below the screen.
Operating Instructions
Basic Communication
Selecting a Channel:
- Press the MENU button once. The channel number will flash on the display.
- Use the Up or Down arrow buttons to select your desired channel (1-22).
- Press the MENU button again to confirm the channel.
Transmitting and Receiving:
- To speak, press and hold the PTT (Push-To-Talk) button on the side of the walkie-talkie. Speak clearly into the microphone.
- Release the PTT button to listen for a response.

Safe Mode
The Safe Mode feature helps prevent unwanted communication from unknown sources, ensuring only trusted family and friends can reach your child.

Activating Safe Mode:
- Press and hold the Safe-M button (often integrated with the call tone/keypad lock button) for 3 seconds until "SF" appears on the display.
- In Safe Mode, the walkie-talkie will block chatter from other channels, allowing communication only with other walkie-talkies set to the same Safe Mode frequency.
Keypad Lock
To prevent accidental button presses, activate the keypad lock.

Activating Keypad Lock:
- Long press the Call tone/Keypad lock button. A key icon will appear on the display.
- To unlock, long press the same button again.
Flashlight Function
Your walkie-talkie includes a built-in LED flashlight for convenience in low-light conditions.

Using the Flashlight:
- Long press either the Up or Down arrow button to turn the flashlight on.
- Long press the same button again to turn it off.
Maintenance
- Keep the walkie-talkies clean by wiping them with a soft, dry cloth.
- Avoid exposing the devices to extreme temperatures, moisture, or direct sunlight.
- Ensure the charging port is free of debris before charging.
- Store the walkie-talkies in a cool, dry place when not in use.

Troubleshooting
No Power
- Check the battery level on the LCD screen. Recharge the walkie-talkie if the battery is low.
- Ensure the device is powered on by long-pressing the MENU button.
Cannot Communicate
- Verify both walkie-talkies are on the same channel and CTCSS/DCS code (if applicable).
- Ensure Safe Mode is correctly configured on all devices if used.
- Check the distance; the maximum range is approximately 1 mile in open areas. Obstacles like buildings or dense foliage can significantly reduce range.
- Confirm the PTT button is fully pressed when speaking and released when listening.
Poor Sound Quality
- Adjust the volume level using the Up/Down arrow buttons.
- Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the microphone or speaker.
- Move to an area with fewer obstructions or less interference.
