Introduction
This user manual provides essential information for the operation, maintenance, and care of your Fossil Men's Nate Quartz Stainless Steel Chronograph Watch. Please read this manual thoroughly to ensure proper use and to maximize the lifespan of your timepiece.
The Fossil Nate Quartz Chronograph Watch features a robust design with a black ionised stainless steel case and band, a classic black dial with amber indexes, and chronograph functionality. It is designed for durability and style, suitable for various occasions.
Product Overview

The watch features a 50mm case and a 24mm band width. The hardened mineral crystal lens is designed to resist scratches, ensuring clarity and durability. The accurate Quartz movement provides precise timekeeping, along with stopwatch functionality and a date window.
Setup
Setting the Time and Date
- Pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown (the knob on the side of the watch) to position 2 for setting the date, or to position 3 for setting the time.
- Set the date: If in position 2, turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise until the correct date appears in the date window.
- Set the time: If in position 3, turn the crown to move the hour and minute hands to the desired time. Ensure to account for AM/PM if the watch has a 24-hour indicator or if setting the date.
- Push in the crown: Once the time and date are set, push the crown back into position 1 (normal operating position) to start the watch.
Adjusting the Band
The stainless steel bracelet band features a secure fold-over clasp closure. Links can be removed by a qualified jeweler or watch technician for a customized fit. The band is interchangeable with all 24mm Fossil straps, allowing for personalization.
Operating Instructions
Using the Chronograph Function
The chronograph allows for precise timing of events. It typically consists of three subdials: a 60-second subdial, a 30-minute subdial, and a 24-hour subdial.
- Start: Press the top pusher (button) to start the chronograph. The chronograph second hand will begin to move.
- Stop/Pause: Press the top pusher again to stop or pause the chronograph. The elapsed time will be indicated on the subdials.
- Reset: Press the bottom pusher to reset the chronograph hands to zero. This can only be done when the chronograph is stopped.
Water Resistance
This Fossil watch is water resistant up to 50 meters (165 feet), or 5 ATM. This means it is suitable for short periods of recreational swimming and showering. It is not suitable for diving or snorkeling. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before exposing the watch to water.
Maintenance
Cleaning Your Watch
- For stainless steel bands and cases, wipe with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, a mild soap solution can be used, followed by thorough rinsing and drying.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish.
- If the watch has a leather strap, avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, and extreme temperatures to prevent damage and discoloration. Clean leather straps with a dry, soft cloth.
Battery Replacement
The watch is powered by a quartz movement, which requires a battery. When the watch stops or the second hand begins to jump erratically (if applicable), it indicates a low battery. Battery replacement should be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and water resistance integrity.
Storage
When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and strong magnetic fields. The original Fossil tin (if available) is ideal for storage.
