Package Contents
Upon opening the package, please verify that all components are present and undamaged:
- 1 x Multi-function Precision Bench Drill
- 1 x Power Adapter (AC 100-240V input)
Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
- Placement: Place the bench drill on a stable, level, and clean workbench. Ensure adequate lighting and ventilation.
- Power Connection:

Figure 2: The power adapter connected to the drill unit.
Connect the DC output plug of the provided power adapter to the power input jack on the back of the bench drill. Plug the AC input cord of the power adapter into a standard AC 100-240V electrical outlet. Ensure the power switch on the drill (if present) is in the OFF position before connecting to power.
- Chuck Installation (if applicable): If the chuck is not pre-installed, carefully screw it onto the motor shaft. Ensure it is tightened securely.
- Bit Installation: Loosen the chuck jaws using the chuck key (if provided) or by hand. Insert the desired drill bit or tool into the chuck, ensuring it is seated firmly. Tighten the chuck jaws securely to prevent slippage during operation.
Operating Instructions
- Power On: Turn on the power switch located on the bench drill or the power adapter. The motor should begin to rotate.
- Speed Adjustment: If your power adapter has a voltage/speed adjustment knob, rotate it to achieve the desired drilling speed. Start with a lower speed for delicate materials or larger bits, and increase as needed.

- Workpiece Securing: Always secure your workpiece firmly to the drill's base or a suitable vise to prevent movement during drilling. This ensures accuracy and safety.
- Drilling Operation:
- Position the workpiece so the drill bit is directly above the desired drilling point.
- Slowly lower the drill bit into the workpiece using the feed handle. Apply steady, even pressure.
- Avoid excessive force, which can damage the bit or the workpiece.
- For deep holes, periodically retract the bit to clear chips and allow cooling.
- Power Off: Once drilling is complete, raise the drill bit clear of the workpiece. Turn off the power switch and unplug the unit from the power outlet when not in use.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your precision bench drill.
- Cleaning: After each use, disconnect power and clean the drill thoroughly. Remove all dust, chips, and debris from the chuck, column, and base using a brush or compressed air.
- Lubrication: Periodically apply a light machine oil to moving parts, such as the column and feed mechanism, to ensure smooth operation.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord for any signs of damage. Check the chuck for wear and ensure it grips bits securely.
- Storage: Store the drill in a clean, dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Drill does not power on. | No power to outlet; power adapter not connected; drill switch off. | Check power outlet; ensure power adapter is securely connected; turn drill switch to ON. |
| Motor runs, but bit does not rotate. | Chuck not tightened; chuck damaged. | Tighten chuck securely; inspect chuck for damage and replace if necessary. |
| Excessive vibration or noise. | Loose components; worn bearings; bent drill bit. | Check all fasteners; inspect bearings; replace bent drill bit. |
| Drill bit gets stuck in workpiece. | Excessive feed pressure; dull bit; incorrect speed. | Reduce feed pressure; sharpen or replace bit; adjust speed appropriately for material. |
