1. Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the operation and maintenance of your RUIGE A3-2 Automatic Mechanical Watch. Please read this manual carefully to ensure proper use and longevity of your timepiece. This watch features an automatic mechanical movement, a calendar display, and night light functionality.
2. Setup and Initial Winding
Your RUIGE A3-2 watch is powered by an automatic mechanical movement, which means it winds itself with the motion of your wrist. However, for initial setup or after a period of inactivity, manual winding is recommended.
2.1 Manual Winding
- Ensure the crown is in position 1 (fully pushed in).
- Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This will provide sufficient power reserve to start the watch.
- The watch will begin to operate. Subsequent wear will keep the watch wound.
2.2 Setting the Time
- Pull the crown out to position 3 (farthest out). The second hand will stop.
- Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. Rotate clockwise to advance the time.
- Push the crown back to position 1 (fully in) to start the watch.
2.3 Setting the Date and Day of the Week
- Pull the crown out to position 2 (middle position).
- Rotate the crown clockwise to adjust the date.
- Rotate the crown counter-clockwise to adjust the day of the week.
- Important: Avoid setting the date or day between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM, as this can damage the movement. If you need to set the date during this period, first set the time outside this window (e.g., to 6:00 AM), adjust the date/day, then reset the time to the current time.
- Once set, push the crown back to position 1 (fully in).

3. Operating the Watch
3.1 Automatic Movement
The RUIGE A3-2 watch is powered by an automatic mechanical movement. This means that the natural motion of your arm while wearing the watch will wind the mainspring, providing power. If the watch is not worn for an extended period (typically 36-48 hours), it may stop and require manual winding as described in Section 2.1.
3.2 Sub-Dials Functionality
- Day of the Week Sub-Dial: Located on the left side of the main dial, this sub-dial indicates the current day of the week (e.g., MON, TUE, WED).
- 24-Hour Sub-Dial: Located on the right side of the main dial, this sub-dial displays the time in a 24-hour format, useful for distinguishing AM/PM.
3.3 Night Light Function
The hands and hour markers of your watch are treated with a luminous material. To activate the night light effect, expose the watch to a bright light source (natural or artificial) for a few minutes. The luminosity will then be visible in low-light conditions.

4. Maintenance and Care
Proper care will ensure the longevity and performance of your RUIGE A3-2 watch.
- Cleaning: Wipe the watch case and bracelet regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and smudges. For stainless steel, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying.
- Water Resistance: The watch is rated for 3ATM water resistance. This means it is suitable for daily use, such as hand washing or light rain. It is not suitable for showering, swimming, diving, or any activities involving submersion in water or exposure to high-pressure water jets. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.
- Temperature Extremes: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (above 60°C / 140°F or below 0°C / 32°F) or sudden temperature changes, as this can affect the movement and seals.
- Magnetic Fields: Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields (e.g., speakers, refrigerators, mobile phones, MRI machines), as magnetism can affect the accuracy of mechanical movements.
- Impact: Avoid dropping the watch or subjecting it to strong impacts, which can damage the internal components.
- Storage: When not wearing the watch for an extended period, store it in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original box or a watch case.

5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your watch, please refer to the following common solutions:
- Watch has stopped or is running slowly:
- The watch may have run out of power reserve. Manually wind the watch by rotating the crown clockwise 30-40 times (crown in position 1).
- Ensure you are wearing the watch regularly for sufficient time to allow the automatic movement to wind.
- Time is inaccurate:
- Check if the watch has been exposed to strong magnetic fields. If so, demagnetization by a professional watchmaker may be required.
- Ensure the watch is fully wound.
- Mechanical watches naturally have a slight deviation in accuracy. Significant deviation may indicate a need for servicing.
- Date or Day is not changing:
- Ensure the time is set correctly, especially the AM/PM cycle, as the date/day changes around midnight.
- Avoid setting the date/day between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM to prevent damage.
If the problem persists after following these steps, please contact customer support or a qualified watch repair technician.
