4. Assembly Instructions
The pergola is designed for easy assembly. It is recommended to assemble the unit on flat ground with multiple people to ensure stability and safety during the process. Follow the numbered steps below and refer to the provided illustrations.
- Prepare the Area: Choose a flat, stable surface for assembly. Ensure adequate space around the assembly area.
- Assemble the Frame: Connect the main aluminum alloy frame components according to the labeled parts and diagrams. The frame features a thickened design for enhanced structural stability.
- Install Anchoring Stands: Attach the stable anchoring stands to the base of each post. For additional stability, especially in windy conditions, add weights such as gravel to the lower posts. Stakes are included for installation on dirt ground, while the design is also applicable for cement, wood deck, and concrete surfaces.
- Attach Canopy Tracks: Secure the sliding tracks for the canopy and side mesh screens to the frame.
- Mount Canopy and Side Mesh: Carefully attach the retractable canopy and side mesh screens to their respective tracks. Ensure they slide smoothly.
- Final Checks: Double-check all connections and ensure the pergola is stable and securely anchored before use.

5. Operating Instructions
The Agrestem pergola features a retractable canopy and movable side mesh screens, allowing you to easily adjust your outdoor shade.
- Canopy Operation: To adjust the canopy, simply use the built-in sliding track. Pull the towing rope to extend or retract the canopy to your desired position. The canopy is designed with a carabiner system to snap onto snaps when fully deployed, preventing swaying in the wind.
- Side Mesh Screens: The side mesh screens also operate on a sliding track, allowing you to open or close them for privacy or additional shade as needed.

6. Care and Maintenance
Proper care and maintenance will extend the life and appearance of your pergola.
- Frame Cleaning: The aluminum alloy frame has a powder-coated finish for rust and corrosion resistance. Clean the frame periodically with a mild soap and water solution. Rinse thoroughly and dry to prevent water spots.
- Canopy and Mesh Cleaning: The polyester fabric canopy and mesh screens are waterproof and UV-resistant. Clean them with a soft brush and mild soap. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Allow to air dry completely before retracting for storage.
- Weather Protection: As noted in the safety section, retract the canopy during strong winds, heavy rain, or snowfall to prevent damage. For prolonged periods of non-use or during severe weather seasons, consider disassembling and storing the canopy and mesh indoors.
