If your Tracy Tag is out of Bluetooth range, the Find My network can still help you locate it:

  • Open the Find My app.
  • Go to the Items tab and select your Tracy Tag.
  • The app will display the Tracy Tag's last known location on a map, which is updated anonymously by other Apple devices in the Find My network.
  • You can get directions to this last known location. Once you are within Bluetooth range, you can use the "Play Sound" feature.

Maintenance

1. Battery Replacement

The Tracy Tag uses a standard CR2032 coin cell battery, which typically lasts about one year. You can monitor the battery status directly within the Find My app.

  • When the battery is low, the Find My app will notify you.
  • Replace the battery following the steps outlined in the "Battery Installation/Activation" section under Setup.
  • Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

2. Cleaning

The Tracy Tag is IP67 certified, meaning it is dust and waterproof. To clean your device:

  • Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the device's finish or seals.
  • Ensure the battery compartment is securely closed before exposing the device to water.

Troubleshooting

  • Tracy Tag not pairing:
    • Ensure the battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge.
    • Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your iOS device.
    • Bring the Tracy Tag close to your iOS device during the pairing process.
    • Restart your iOS device and try pairing again.
  • Cannot hear the Tracy Tag ring:
    • Ensure your iOS device is within Bluetooth range of the Tracy Tag.
    • Check the battery level of the Tracy Tag in the Find My app. A low battery might affect sound output.
    • Ensure the Tracy Tag is not covered by thick materials that could muffle the sound.
  • Location not updating or showing old location:
    • The Tracy Tag relies on the Apple Find My network. If it's out of Bluetooth range of your device and no other Apple devices are nearby, its location will only update when it comes into proximity with another Apple device.
    • The map will show the last known location where it was detected by an Apple device. It does not provide real-time GPS tracking when out of range.
    • Ensure Location Services are enabled for the Find My app on your iOS device.
  • Tracy Tag not responding:
    • Try replacing the battery with a new CR2032 battery.
    • If the issue persists, try resetting the Tracy Tag (refer to manufacturer's support for specific reset instructions if available, as this is not detailed in the product description).
