Setup
Powering the Unit
Your boombox can be powered by AC current or batteries.
- AC Power: Connect the supplied AC power cord to the AC inlet on the unit and then to a standard wall outlet.
- Battery Power: Open the battery compartment cover on the rear of the unit. Insert 4 x 'D' size batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the cover securely.
Antenna Adjustment
For optimal radio reception, extend the telescopic antenna fully and adjust its direction. For AM reception, rotating the unit itself may improve signal quality.
Operating Instructions
Radio Operation
- Turn on the unit using the Power button.
- Set the Function Selector to "Radio".
- Select the desired band (AM, FM, SW1, SW2) using the Band Selector.
- Rotate the Tuning Dial to find your desired station.
- Adjust the Volume Knob to a comfortable listening level.
- Adjust the telescopic antenna for best reception.
Cassette Player Operation
- Set the Function Selector to "Tape".
- Press the Stop/Eject button to open the cassette compartment.
- Insert a cassette tape with the open edge facing upwards. Close the compartment.
- Press the Play button to start playback.
- Use Fast Forward (FF) or Rewind (REW) buttons to navigate the tape.
- Press Stop/Eject to stop playback and open the compartment.
Bluetooth Pairing
- Turn on the unit and set the Function Selector to "Bluetooth". The Bluetooth indicator will flash.
- Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.) and search for available devices.
- Select "SC-3201BT" from the list of devices.
- Once paired, the Bluetooth indicator will stop flashing and remain solid. You can now play audio from your device through the boombox.
USB/SD Card Playback
- Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port or an SD card into the SD card slot.
- Set the Function Selector to "USB/SD". The unit will automatically detect and begin playing MP3 files.
- Use the Play/Pause, Next Track, and Previous Track buttons to control playback.
Recording (Cassette to USB/SD)
This feature allows you to convert audio from a cassette tape to MP3 format on a USB drive or SD card.
- Insert a USB flash drive or SD card into its respective slot.
- Insert the cassette tape you wish to record.
- Set the Function Selector to "Tape".
- Press the Play button on the cassette deck.
- Press the "REC/MP3" button (or similar, refer to unit markings) to start recording. The unit will convert the cassette audio to MP3 and save it to the USB/SD.
- Press the Stop button on the cassette deck and the "REC/MP3" button again to stop recording.
Note: The quality of recorded MP3 files from cassette may vary.
Equalizer (EQ) Adjustment
Use the 3-band EQ controls (Bass, Mid, Treble) to customize the audio output to your preference. Rotate the knobs to increase or decrease the respective frequency ranges.
Using the Earphone Jack
For private listening, plug 3.5mm stereo earphones (not included) into the earphone jack. The built-in speakers will automatically mute.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Cassette Deck Care: Regularly clean the cassette head, pinch roller, and capstan with a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol to ensure optimal sound quality and prevent tape damage.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, disconnect the AC power cord and remove batteries. Store the unit in a cool, dry place.
