3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully unpack the M-Vave IR-Box and inspect it for any signs of damage. Ensure all included components are present.
3.2 Power Connection
The IR-Box can be powered by a DC 9V power supply (minimum 300mA, not included) or via USB 5V (minimum 300mA) from a computer or USB power adapter. Connect the appropriate power source to the pedal.
3.3 Audio Connections
Connect your instrument (guitar or bass) to the IN jack using a 1/4" TS instrument cable. Connect the OUT jack to your amplifier, mixer, or audio interface using a 1/4" TS cable. For balanced output, use an XLR cable from the XLR output. For silent practice, connect headphones to the 1/8" TRS headphone output.

3.4 USB Connection
Connect the pedal to your computer using the supplied USB-C data cable. This connection allows for firmware updates, software control, IR file customization, and preset management.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Powering On/Off
Once connected to a power source, the pedal will automatically power on. There is no dedicated power switch. Disconnect the power source to turn off the unit.
4.2 Preset Selection
Use the '+' and '-' buttons to navigate through the 32 available presets. The current preset number will be displayed on the screen.
4.3 Bypass Function
Press the BYPASS button to toggle the effect on or off. When bypassed, the signal passes through the pedal without IR processing.
4.4 Control Knobs
- LOW CUT: Adjusts the low-frequency cutoff point. Turn clockwise to remove more low-end frequencies.
- VOL: Controls the overall output volume of the pedal.
- HI CUT: Adjusts the high-frequency cutoff point. Turn clockwise to remove more high-end frequencies.

5. Modulation and Customization
The M-Vave IR-Box offers extensive customization options via its official software and mobile application. Connect the pedal to your computer via USB to access these features.
5.1 IR Module Customization
Within the software, you can customize IR files. The IR module supports 44.1 kHz 24-bit sampling rate and IR files with 1024 sample points. This allows you to load your own impulse responses to further tailor your sound.
5.2 EQ Module
The official software and mobile app include a professional 9-segment equalizer module. This EQ allows you to fine-tune frequency ranges from 20 Hz to 18 kHz with a ±12 dB adjustment range, providing precise tonal control.
- Default Mode: The IR module is active, and the EQ module is deactivated.
- Activating EQ: The EQ module can be manually activated via the software/app.
- Independent EQ: If the IR module is deactivated, the EQ module can be used independently.
5.3 Preset Management
The software allows for one-click import and export of presets, simplifying the process of sharing and backing up your customized settings.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the pedal's exterior. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the pedal in a dry environment, away from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, and high humidity.
- Handling: Avoid dropping the pedal or subjecting it to strong impacts, which could damage internal components.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Sound:
- Ensure the power supply is correctly connected and providing sufficient power.
- Check all audio cables for proper connection and functionality.
- Verify that the pedal is not in bypass mode if you expect an effect.
- Confirm that the volume knob (VOL) is not set to minimum.
- Poor Sound Quality/Noise:
- Ensure you are using a regulated power supply.
- Check for faulty cables or connections.
- Adjust the LOW CUT and HI CUT knobs to shape the frequency response and reduce unwanted frequencies.
- If using custom IRs, ensure they are correctly formatted and loaded.
- Pedal Not Responding to USB:
- Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the pedal and the computer.
- Try a different USB port on your computer.
- Restart your computer and the pedal.
- Ensure you have the latest official software and drivers installed.
