6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life of your kettle.

  • Before Cleaning: Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the surface.
  • Interior Cleaning: The large opening and stainless steel interior facilitate easy cleaning. Rinse the interior with water. For stubborn stains, use a soft brush or sponge.
  • Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. Descale your kettle regularly (e.g., monthly or every two months) using a commercial descaling solution suitable for kettles, or a natural solution of white vinegar and water. Follow the instructions on the descaling product or use a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water, fill the kettle, let it stand for an hour (or boil if heavily scaled), then rinse thoroughly several times.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the kettle and its base in a dry place.
