1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your Funhang EB-C2 Electric Bike. Please read this manual thoroughly before your first ride to ensure optimal performance and safety.

The Funhang EB-C2 is a 26-inch step-thru electric bicycle designed for adult commuters and recreational riders, featuring a 1000W peak motor and a 48V removable battery.

2. Safety Information

Your safety is paramount. Always wear a helmet when riding. Ensure all components are securely fastened before each use.

2.1 Safety Certifications

• UL 2849 Certified: The entire ebike complies with UL 2849 safety standards, ensuring electrical and mechanical safety.
• UL 2271 Certified: The Li-ion battery meets UL 2271 safety standards.

These certifications, recognized by SGS, confirm rigorous testing for safety and reliability.

2.2 Important Reminders

• Always wear a helmet while riding.
• Ensure all ebike parts are tightened before riding.
• Inflate tires to the recommended pressure (40-45 PSI).
• Familiarize yourself with local ebike regulations.

3. Setup and Assembly

The Funhang EB-C2 electric bike is approximately 85% pre-assembled. Follow these steps to complete the assembly.

3.1 Included Components

The package includes: Ebike, Charger, Stem, Rear Rack, Kickstand, User Manual, Tool Kit.

3.3 Step-by-Step Assembly

1. Attach the Kickstand: Loosen the two bolts on the kickstand, align it with the designated mounting points on the bike frame near the rear wheel, and tighten the bolts securely.
2. Inflate Rear Tire: Inflate the rear tire to 40-45 PSI. An air pump is not included.
3. Install the Front Wheel:
   • Remove the fixing rod from the front fork.
   • Align the front fork with the axle in the center of the front wheel.
   • Find the black quick release lever, remove the nut, spring, and safety washer.
   • Insert the quick release lever into the axle hole in the center of the wheel.
   • Attach the safety washer and spring, then tighten the nut. Lock the clamp.
4. Inflate Front Tire: Inflate the front tire to 40-45 PSI.
5. Install the Stem:
   • Insert the stem into the head tube.
   • Tighten the screw above the stem.
   • Loosen the screw on the stem, adjust the stem to the desired angle for comfort, and then tighten the screw.
6. Install the Handlebar:
   • Loosen the four screws on the stem clamp.
   • Place the handlebar on the stem.
   • Adjust the angle of the handlebar to ensure it is level and tighten the four screws.
7. Install the Headlight and Front Fender:
   • Loosen the screw on the front fork.
   • Attach the front fender and headlight in place and tighten the screw.
   • Loosen the bolts on both sides of the front fork, secure the fender support to the bolts, and then tighten the two bolts.
8. Install the Rear Rack and Fasten the Rear Fender:
   • Loosen the bolts on both sides of the upper rear fork and the frame tail hook.
   • Attach the rear rack in place.
   • Secure the rear fender support to the bolts on both sides of the rear fork.
   • Tighten all four bolts.
9. Install the Pedals:
   • Identify the right pedal (marked with "R") and install it clockwise.
   • Identify the left pedal (marked with "L") and install it counterclockwise.
10. Install the Saddle:
    • Open the quick release clamp under the seat post.
    • Insert the seat post, ensuring it does not exceed the safety line.
    • Lock the quick release clamp and make sure the seat is fastened in place.
11. Attach Waterproof Cover and Nutcap:
    • Attach the waterproof cover to the headtube.
    • Attach the nut cap to the rear wheel nut.

4. Operating Instructions

Familiarize yourself with the ebike's controls and modes for an optimal riding experience.

4.1 Display Operations

• Power On/Off: Press and hold the middle button on the display for at least 3 seconds.
• Toggle Display Information: Short press the middle button to cycle through odometer, trip distance, and voltage.
• Adjust Pedal Assist Level (PAS): Use the "+" button to increase PAS level (1-5) and "-" to decrease.
• Setting Mode: Press and hold "+" and "-" buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to enter setting mode.
• Exit Setting Mode: Press and hold "+" and "-" buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.

4.2 Riding Modes

The EB-C2 offers 5 versatile working modes:

• Pure Electric Mode: Use the throttle for propulsion without pedaling.
• Assisted Bicycle Mode (PAS): Choose from 1-5 pedal assist levels to augment your pedaling effort.
• Normal Bike Mode: Ride as a traditional bicycle without electric assistance.
• Cruise Mode: Maintain a constant speed. To activate, twist the throttle to achieve a speed above 6.2 mph, then long press the "-" button. The display will show "P". To exit, use the brakes or throttle.
• Booster Mode: Provides assistance for pushing the ebike effortlessly. Long press the "-" button until the display shows "P". The ebike will move at a speed no more than 4.2 mph. Squeeze the brake to exit.

5. Battery Information and Charging

The Funhang EB-C2 features a 48V 374.4WH IPX5 waterproof lithium-ion battery.

5.1 Battery Removal and Lock

• Removal: Insert the key into the lock and turn it counterclockwise to release and remove the battery.
• Installation: Slowly align the battery in place and press gently until it locks securely.

5.2 Charging the Battery

The battery can be charged both on and off the ebike.

• Charging Off the Ebike: Install the charger and plug in the power adapter. Connect the charger to the battery's charging port. The charger's indicator light will turn green from red when fully charged.
• Charging On the Ebike: Plug the charger directly into the charging port located on the ebike frame.

Charging time is approximately 4-5 hours for a full charge.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Funhang EB-C2.

• Tire Pressure: Maintain tire pressure between 40-45 PSI for optimal performance and safety.
• Brakes: Regularly check disc brakes for wear and proper function. Adjust as needed.
• Gears: Ensure the 7-speed Shimano system shifts smoothly. Adjust if gears are skipping or not engaging properly.
• Fasteners: Periodically check and tighten all bolts and screws, especially on the handlebars, stem, and wheels.
• Cleaning: Clean your ebike with a damp cloth. Avoid high-pressure washing directly on electrical components.
• Storage: Store the ebike in a dry, cool place. If storing for extended periods, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50-70%) and recharge every 1-2 months.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Funhang EB-C2, please refer to the following general troubleshooting tips. For complex problems, contact customer support.

• Ebike Not Powering On: Check if the battery is fully charged and properly installed. Ensure the key is turned to the 'on' position if applicable.
• Motor Not Assisting: Verify the PAS level is set above 0. Check if the brake levers are fully released, as they may cut off motor power.
• Reduced Range: This can be due to low tire pressure, riding in higher PAS/throttle modes, heavy loads, or extreme temperatures.
• Brake Noise: Clean the brake rotors and pads. Ensure the calipers are properly aligned.
• Unusual Noises: Inspect for loose components, rubbing parts, or issues with the chain or gears.
