3. Product Features

4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
The PTD601 is powered by 3x 1.5V AA batteries.
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert three 1.5V AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
4.2 Probe Connection
Connect the PT100 temperature probe to the designated port on the top of the data logger. Ensure the connection is firm to prevent inaccurate readings.

5. Operation
5.1 Power On/Off
- To power on: Press and hold the green power button until the LCD screen illuminates.
- To power off: Press and hold the red power button until the screen turns off. The device also features an auto-off function to conserve battery life.
5.2 Basic Measurement
Once powered on and the probe is connected, the device will immediately begin displaying real-time temperature readings on the large LCD screen.
- The screen shows current temperature, MAX/MIN/AVG values, and a temperature trend chart.
- Position the PT100 probe in the environment or substance you wish to measure.
5.3 Data Hold Function
To temporarily freeze the current temperature reading on the display, press the HOLD button. Press it again to resume real-time measurements.
5.4 Backlight Function
For operation in low-light conditions, press the Backlight button (often integrated with another function or a dedicated button, refer to device markings) to activate the screen backlight.
6. Parameter Settings
The PTD601 allows you to customize various settings through its menu system.

- Press the Menu button (often labeled with an 'M' or similar icon) to enter the settings menu.
- Use the navigation buttons (up/down arrows or similar) to scroll through options such as:
- Sensor Type: Select between PT100 or PT1000 if applicable.
- Sound: Enable or disable audible alerts.
- Logging: Configure data logging intervals or start/stop logging.
- Auto Off: Adjust the auto-off timer.
- Alert: Set high and low temperature alarm thresholds.
- Temperature Units: Switch between Celsius (℃), Fahrenheit (℉), or Kelvin (K) using the dedicated ℃/℉/K button or within the menu.
- Press the Enter button to confirm selections or the Exit button to leave the menu.
7. Data Management (Auto Reports)
One of the key features of the PTD601 is its ability to generate data reports without requiring proprietary software.
- Ensure the data logger has recorded data.
- Connect the PTD601 to a computer using the provided USB cable.
- The device will be recognized as a removable storage device.
- Navigate to the device's storage. You will find automatically generated data reports in TXT, CSV, XLS, and PDF formats.
- Open these files to view or analyze your temperature data.
- The device also supports a "regenerate file" function for recovering recent records or deleted data. Refer to the on-screen prompts or the device's internal menu for this option.

8. Alarms
The PTD601 features configurable high and low temperature sound alarms to alert users when temperatures exceed or fall below set thresholds.
- Access the "Alert" option within the Parameter Settings menu (refer to Section 6).
- Set your desired high temperature limit.
- Set your desired low temperature limit.
- Ensure the "Sound" option is enabled in the settings if you wish to receive audible alerts.
- When the measured temperature crosses these thresholds, an audible alarm will sound, and an alert icon may appear on the display.

9. Maintenance
9.1 Cleaning
To clean the device, wipe it with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water. Ensure the probe is clean before and after each use, especially when measuring different substances.
9.2 Battery Replacement
When the battery indicator on the LCD screen shows low power, replace the 1.5V AA batteries as described in Section 4.1. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
9.3 Storage
Store the PTD601 in its portable box in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The recommended storage temperature (without battery) is -20℃ to 60℃.
10. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Tzone PTD601, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Device does not power on:
- Check battery installation and ensure correct polarity.
- Replace with fresh 1.5V AA batteries.
- Ensure the power button is pressed and held sufficiently.
- Inaccurate temperature readings:
- Ensure the PT100 probe is securely connected.
- Verify the probe is fully immersed or properly positioned in the measurement area.
- Check for any physical damage to the probe or cable.
- Consider recalibration if accuracy issues persist (refer to calibration certificate or contact support).
- No data report generated via USB:
- Ensure the device is powered on and connected correctly to the computer's USB port.
- Try a different USB port or cable.
- Verify that the device's internal memory is not full.
- Restart the computer and reconnect the device.
- Alarm not sounding:
- Check the "Sound" setting in the menu to ensure it is enabled.
- Verify that the high and low alarm thresholds are set correctly and that the current temperature is outside these limits.
